Cool video. Hopefully you will come back to Ireland at some point. I will definitely get to Tenessee sometime too. in the meantime I am going to get to know our Irish enthusiasts and learn more about the craft.

Hey Bjorn, i just recently stumbled across your channel when i was watching Bonsaitutorials and i like it (and of course you) very much. Having said that, i wanted to give you a recommendation on a german Gardeningchannel of a guy, i like very much and who does also a lot of Bonsaivideos. Channelname: Detlef Römisch I hope you find the time to look into it and furthermore that you like it as muich as i do. Best regards and keep on the good work Jens

Do you have your own drone? If not, where do you get your footage? Also, why don’t you ever reply to KZfaq comments? Great videos by the way.

as someone slightly fascinated by bonsai but not really that into it...what's with the tilting pots? some jutted up by a few degrees but at the end there there's a small one tilted by like almost 45 degrees.

It is a way to show how the tree will look when repotted to that position-the pot sitting flat and the tree at the angle.

Recently "found" you on Uribe! Awesome advice, insight on your adventures...indeed I'm across the pond, but studied/lived in Copenhagen yrs ago & worked/lived in London as Architect. Seeing your adventures, enthusiasm growing to try it. I have two (red) cedars transplanted yrs ago 5" tall, but 6 yrs of neglect they both 60cm now. Still in shallow clay pot & was going to plant back in woods. Now seeing your vids, I am indeed inspired with your talent just wish you were closer here in USA! Since I have two trees in this one container and have only seen one tree per pot should I keep them together? A miniature Cedar Forest? Thanks for the insight greetings again across the pond. Sincerely Thomas.

I just had a quick question. I'm trying to grow a maple from seed and I want to style it like a traditional Japanese maple bonsai. It's at its second pair of mature leaves and the growth has kinda halted. It is winter but I brought it inside, is it ok?
@TONYGAMINGSUPER6 жыл бұрын
Also when should I prune it?
@DurandCompton6 жыл бұрын
Leave it outside for the winter. Trees need to sleep when it's cold. Prune it late in the winter, right before it begins to wake up. Be sure to keep it somewhere sheltered from the worst of the elements.

Depends on what kinda maple it is. Japanese species can not take harsh cold weather good, platanoides maple can.
@leevandyke45626 жыл бұрын
Leave maples outside during winter. It needs a period of dormancy so it will flourish. If you are doing that style I would let it grow for a few years with very little pruning until it gets thick and then do a major prune. Only light pruning just to keep crossing branches from gaining vigor. You'll end up having to do a trunk chop before you style it. I hope you have fun! I have about 10 seeds I started growing last spring and they will be repotted in spring into individual pots and then they will be left to grow as much as they can until I style them
