The second purushartha or human goal is 'Artha' or the procurement of wealth. Wealth is the means for security. When dharma is the basis of wealth, wealth blesses one with fulfilment. Else it leads only to self-destruction. This concept is presented with the story of Chanakya and Chandragupta. After establishing the rule over Magadha, Acharya Vishnugupta Chanakya assertively implemented the righteous means of wealth management. He explained Chandragupta that each earning citizen must pay tax to the government and share wealth with the poor by means of charity. Not doing so will lead to unequal distribution of wealth; and the social distrust so born will destroy the Nation. The wealth earned by unrighteous means leads to calamity!

One of the best lessons to be learnt by everybody. No doubt about Chandragupta hard work and unwavering commitment. Chanakaya teachings were very valuable. Vedas and Upanishads have many things to learn. As I have read more than 500 books on self-help, habits, attitudes, etc. The West authors have captured the concept from our Vedas and Vedic scriptures. If everybody start reading Vedas and scriptures everyday for 30 mins and start contemplating and implementing in the life, the mind will be pure leading to sublime thoughts and will realise the value of this human life whose purpose is to become God realised. Kenopanishad 2.5 says “If God is not understood in this human life it will be a terrible loss.” This precious human life is unattainable even by Celestial Gods

पहले के समय में सच में ही कहा जाता था कि धर्म के अनुसार यानी कि उचित पूर्वक अर्जन किया गया अर्थ (धन) और काम (आनंद) मनुष्य को वास्तविक सुख दे सकता है। यही कारण है कि पहले के लोग धन से गरीब होने के बावजूद भी सुखी होते थे। लेकिन, आज वर्तमान समय में वैसे लोग जो धर्म-अधर्म की चिंता किए बगैर केवल किसी भी प्रकार से अधिक धन प्राप्ति में लगे रहते हैं वे हमेशा परेशान ही देखे जाते हैं एक अलग ही चिंता उन्हे सताती रहती है।
