@@wickedcupcakes214 let me first be honest and say there is quite a bit we Pentecostals interpreted in the Bible through the eyes of man, instead of what God intended. However, you’re probably too young to remember, but in the 70s and 80s this was not how Pentecostal churches praised and worshipped. We had a piano, an organ, and tambourines. We’d slap the pews for extra praise. We pulled out our hymnals and we sang in the aisles, hymnals in hand. We danced and rejoiced unto Him. Rock and roll bands, guitars, smoke, lights, drum kits, are NOT what we used for praise and worship. The elders that are still in the church will tell you this. These were added in the late 90s as a way to attempt to get kids in church. However, all it did was push the elders and traditionalists further out the door and angry with how the Pentecostal church was abandoning its roots.

@@haroldbeauchamp3770 My only point was that God calls us to worship Him with everything we have at hand and anything can be used to give God praise. But hey, I've danced in the spirit, cried my eyes out and spoken in tongues with a full band in a dynamic conference and alone in the silence of my bedroom, and I lead worship every week at my church with nothing but a piano (and, for the record, we sing everything from the old hymns to the newest praise music - "sing unto the Lord a new song" and all that). And yes, I am too young to remember the 70s and 80s, because I was born in 1998. And praise God, this movement is just as alive and in love with Jesus as it ever was. I've been in countless spirit filled services, from General Conference (this specific one, actually) to the tiny church I grew up in, where this message is just as alive and powerful as it was for my great-grandfather when he received the Holy Ghost decades ago. It's alive in Africa, where they use African instruments with nary organ in sight, it's alive in hippie corners of Austin, TX, where they worship with acoustic guitars and cajon box drums, and it's alive in secret gatherings in access-challenged nations where they can't even raise their voices without fear of discovery by authorities who would murder them for professing the name of Jesus. This Pentecostal movement is just as spirit-filled and just as zealous to spread this message as it was when I was a kid, when my mom prayed through in the 80s at the age of 15, when my grandmother was a child travelling with her evangelist father, or when my Catholic great-grandfather received the Holy Ghost and began preaching and teaching in the backwoods of Louisiana. Just this past week I attended the 2023 GC with my dad, and we saw the spirit of God fall in a way neither of us had ever seen (and, for the record, he grew up in the 70s and 80s). The spirit isn't restrained by the kind of music we play or the instruments we use or whether or not there's a fancy light show - it's limited only by the willingness of the people of God to respond. I say all of this in sincerity and love, and not at all to cause offense. I'm simply grateful to be part of a movement that cares more about evangelizing the lost than placating the found.

@@tonebrennan8475 drums were not used in traditional service. Drums were added to the service to turn praise and worship into a worldly production. I want a praise and worship like I grew up with. Without all the noise and added instruments and foolishness.

Why the darkness I can’t stand that we’ve been brought out of darkness, God said let there be light and also Lucifer the head worshipper was referred to as the son of the morning in the book of Isaiah meaning, Worship is done in the light, not in darkness

The conference happens in an indoor auditorium (half the services at night). It wasn't actually dark in the room (I was there), but the video cameras have a hard time picking up the indoor lighting. Not a spiritual issue, just a technical one😊

Jesus Christ, per the scriptures, is God. The word Trinity is not contained in the scriptures. The phrase "Three Persons in the Godhead" is not contained within the scriptures. The phrase "God in Three Persons" is not contained within the scriptures. The phrase "God in three persons; Blessed Trinity" is not contained in the scriptures. Who is scripturally the Father of the physical Body of Jesus Christ? Let's see what the scriptures state in Matthew Chapter 1, verses 18 through 20 state this: "Now the birth of Jesus Christ was on this wise: When as his mother Mary was espoused to Joseph, before they came together, she was found with child of the Holy Ghost. Then Joseph her husband, being a just man, and not willing to make her a public example, was minded to put her away privily. But while he thought on these things, behold, the angel of the Lord appeared unto him in a dream, saying, Joseph, thou son of David, fear not to take unto thee Mary thy wife: for that which is conceived in her is of the Holy Ghost." So per this passage of scripture the physical Body of Jesus Christ is conceived by the Holy Ghost, making the Holy Ghost the Father of the physical Body of Jesus Christ. Jesus Christ is GOD manifested in the flesh. Jesus Christ stated in John Chapter 14 verses 8 through 11 KJV states the following where it is recorded of Philip asking Jesus for Him to show them the Father: Philip saith unto him, Lord, shew us the Father, and it sufficeth us. [9] Jesus saith unto him, Have I been so long time with you, and yet hast thou not known me, Philip? he that hath seen me hath seen the Father; and how sayest thou then, Shew us the Father? [10] Believest thou not that I am in the Father, and the Father in me? the words that I speak unto you I speak not of myself: but the Father that dwelleth in me, he doeth the works. [11] Believe me that I am in the Father, and the Father in me: or else believe me for the very works' sake. Jesus Christ is the Father in the flesh, inside and out. In 1st Timothy Chapter 3 Verse 16 states: And without controversy great is the mystery of godliness: God was manifest in the flesh, justified in the Spirit, seen of angels, preached unto the Gentiles, believed on in the world, received up into glory. Jesus Christ, per the scripture, is GOD manifest in the flesh.
