WOW! The videos and scenery just keep getting better and better. Thanks for filming that dangerous river crossing. I'm glad you did not slip. I'm from central CT and have never seen snow on pines mixed in with fall foliage. Very beautiful indeed!

Oct 14, 2015- this was the very day that the missing hiker (Gerry Largay, had been missing for 2 years, Dixie mentioned her a few videos ago) was found deceased in her tent, she had gotten lost off trail and couldn’t find her way back. It’s such a sad story, I just wanted to honour her a little bit ❤️

First, congratulations. I was 49 when I did it in 2008. I still think it was the greatest experience of my life. And you're just getting started. Spoiler here. In all my years of pictures from Katahdin, I've never seen one in the snow. So from this Bama grad I say War DAMN Eagle. And in honor of your accomplishment I will pull for Auburn this week against Ole Miss. Best Thru Hike video series of the year. That's for you Whitney. Need to do a best of video set to some music. Maybe Sara Evans version of "Closer walk with thee". Thanks

Wow! It's the 29th now and can't wait for the next vlog. I sure hope you give us follow up vlogs also. How to do you feel about it all? Maybe a 3/6/12 month review/insight also. Should still be life changing for you as you age! XOXO from a 69 yr old Gramma!!

I see why hikers have to forge so many rivers. It is necessary to clean off the mud caked on your shoes. You are amazingly courageous to keep on keeping on. You are an inspiration to us all.

I was under the impression that there is no roads or any access to it. Were you nervous being in there by yourself? Hear stories of Samsquatches in Maine.
@HomemadeWanderlust
@HomemadeWanderlust 8 жыл бұрын
+D Fuller I wasn't nervous much. The only thing that unnerved me was experiencing aggressive bears and crossing violent fords alone. But, I'm still here to tell about it! Whew :)

I checked it out and I'd say "no". In the woods and all along the AT there are uprooted trees and dead stumps that at a distance look like animals particularly bears.
