The front plastic wheel guard is held by 3 snaps, you can drill them repositioned a half inch forward away from the tire to increase clearance. Heat gun to remold down/flatten any high spots.

I dug your other video when you got the tires, I had the stock yoko's you had but I got back rhino boxer rims, 40mm offset. I got the MT's and love them, no rubbing out of the gate, but I have the IronMan ATS. So glad you put out that video because nitto grapplers would have been a mistake!

Thank you for your video! I had just bought some KO2s in the same size and ordered some enkie RFP1s with +45 offset and was worried I would rub heavily with the wider tire and new wheel. But after your video feel much better knowing you're running lesser offset and you're still good to go. I expect some rubbing in real world scenarios but was afraid I'd be ripping off fender well plastic. Keep up the great videos and content.

Hi Felix, KO2s are also a great tires and glad you made the change because OBW was lacking decent AT tires. and with your set up, you shouldn't have any rubbing issue as the offset is very close to Factory setting. btw is your 17x8 or 17x7.5 either way, you should be fine with your offset.

So I love these tires on my Jeep 37/12.50/17. They have got me through deep sand, deep snow, wet conditions. I feel as if the road noise is not bad, and I feel very safe and secure and rough conditions, even in a lifted Jeep. However, I do feel as if the compound is very hard. This is a good and bad thing. My jeep weighs over 6000 pounds, how does a heavy, hard compound tire making your Outback Wilderness drive? MPG change? And yes, if you did lift your Outback too high, you are more likely to encounter wheel bearing and CV joint issues. Is the +20 offset a good choice? These cars are really tough though. What can you tell me after running these tires for a while? I think these are the best tires that I have ever used in rain, and snow in an all terrain, and handle very well in the mud for being an all terrain. Thanks. And I like your set up.

No problem, Christian. And if you are keeping the factory Yokos, since they are 225s, you can get way with pretty much any offset because the tires are narrower and slightly shorter than the 245s and max width I'd go for is 7.5 inch Hope that helps

Hello Dennis, thank you for your comment, and I love these tires 😀 they do very well in rain/snow/ice and muddy forest roads. Actually, in any type of terrain. Hence, the name All Terrain 😆 I had Falken Wildpeak AT3Ws on my Tacoma and that did not do so well in Rain/snow for me. So if I had to choose between the two again, I would definitely choose MT again. Hope that helps~

You upsized your tires and have an aggressive offset, correct? So, I am assuming that I shouldn't have any issues with the Subaru mudflaps on my 2024 Crosstrek Limited if I stick to stock-sized AT tires (225/55-18) on the stock wheels, or go with something like the Falken Wildpeak Trail or Nitto Nomad Grapplers on the LP Adventure LP1's in 17" with the 35mm offset using the stock size of the Crosstrek Premium and Base, which is 225/60-17? I want to have zero rubbing and don't want the tires sticking out and throwing antiskid stones at the paint all winter long. My area puts down grinded up stone on snow and ice all winter - it did a number on the clearcoat on a vehicle of mine in just one winter - the factory mudguards on that vehicle were useless and I have areas on it where the clear is all pitted/and milky whiteish from this past winter. After dealing with that, I absolutely want the Subaru mudflaps on the 2024 Crosstrek Limited I have on order, because they have far more coverage than the Subaru mudguards (and don't want to deal with that chipping/marring again). Heck, I am so paranoid about the chipping, I am even tempted to drop to 17" wheels, and instead of 225/60-17, go with 215/65-17 for a narrower AT tire to tuck them in even further, and also give me a little more sidewall for potholes/curbs.
@ChasingAdventuresCO
@ChasingAdventuresCO Жыл бұрын
Yes, the only reason why I rub is the offset of the wheels. As long as you stay close to factory offset, you won't have a rubbing issue. And if you are paranoid, you should get some PPF. They will help with rock chips to a certain point.

I totally agree with you. I do feel very confident, safe driving on rough conditions. it rains a lot here in PNW and handles wet conditions very well and tracks well in mud and snow. these are the best AT tires I have tried and if I have to do it all over again, these tires will be my first choice. I only lost 1 mpg with these tires and love the look of the 20mm offset. better then adding wheels spacers as I've had ones that would throw off balance and would shake the steering wheel.

No, I don't recommend getting 16s because of the clearance issue of the front brake calipers, and like I mentioned, if you don't want any rubbing, get the less aggressive wheel offset. 😉 and the tire size is going to be smaller than the stock, so you are going to lose ground clearance and put more miles on the car because it's going have to rotate more for the same distance.
