Being 58 years old and not realizing that money doesn't matter. It's all about love and relationship. Money is just a means.. Better to spend every day of your life with someone you love than to worry about how much money you're paying in taxes. Anyways screw around and you're gonna find out When she ends up in someone else's arms!

Kinda naieve... 58 means he is maybe gonna work less than a decade... taxes are about government f*****g peeps over, so they have less. If you don´t undertstand govs are all take and no give, you will get shafted in life. Under the radar is the way to move abroad (nicely). His young partner will keep more of his estate when he dies, and NOT Uncle Sam, who did f****all. Work for you, not the tax-man is valid.

Is @mcluvin65 some numpty (I am not from US(A), so no axe to grind there. Seems like Universal / Global tax is very EVIL. If I live in UmbongoKatobo land, I should just pay taxes there... imho...

I wouldn’t recommend moving to Puerto Rico just for the Act60 tax benefits. Theres a ton of controversy surrounding them, and they are getting very strict with the rules to be eligible to be on Act60. Local Puerto Ricans hate it because its causing gentrification to the island with Non-Puerto Rican Americans moving in with no relation to the island and with more buying power buying up entire neighborhoods, public areas, and historical sites then going on to turn them all into private resorts, vacation homes, and Airbnb businesses. Because of all this a movement called the GringoGoHome movement has been growing big time and there have been many protests throughout the island to have Act60 removed. Also, many financial gurus and economists have said that Puerto Ricos Act60 is very likely to be taken down in the near future because its actually doing more harm to both Puerto Rico and the US economies. Channels like the Wealthy Expat and Nomad Capitalist have talked about it multiple times and explain why it’s a no go, and there’s better and safer places to move to a US territory to follow a bunch of strict rules just so you can get away with paying little taxes. Congress has been demanding the Puerto Rican government take down Act60 because it’s losing the US billions of tax dollars and many people who are on Act60 are using it as a tax loophole to cheat paying taxes on the island by pretending to live there. Already over 100 people have been caught and arrested, and many more are under investigation by the IRS. The only reason Act60 is still up is because the current corrupt governor Pedro Pierluisi and his party are using it as leverage to pressure congress to make the island the 51st state. And they are open about this plan, when congress ordered them to take it down, Pierluisi said he’ll only do it if they make the island a state first. Next year is the elections on the island and their party has been losing a ton of support because of all the corruption being exposed, and all the other parties are forming an alliance against them. If their party loses the governorship and they don’t get the majority in both house legislatures, then definitely Act60 is dead. All in all, I’m not saying Puerto Rico sucks, I just don’t recommend moving your entire life there just because you want to pay less taxes, when there’s a ton of issues going on in the island.
@TooMuchTimeonmyHands65

THANKS! Yes, I would have obeyed ALL rules, but after further review….short term capital gains are NOT covered in Act 60. I just have to keep doing what I am doing 🙁
@jlm3744
@jlm3744 7 ай бұрын
@TooMuchTimeonmyHands65 Yeah it doesn't. Even if it did, I still wouldn't recommend you get on it dude. There's a ton of controversy surrounding. Puerto Ricans will hate you because they'll think you're just there to exploit the island and the IRS and US government will be eyeing you like a hawk because so many people are using Act60 as a way to cheat paying taxes in the US. But all in all, it's definitely going to be taken down soon, so many people hate it, and most people who do go on Act60 don't stay for too long because the rules are getting stricter or they get arrested. And the current party in charge of the island which is a very corrupt party, they are open about how they know its not helping the island, and its only using Act60 as leverage to pressure congress to make the island a state.

Both Puerto Rico and the Philippines offer attractive tax incentives, but each has its own set of rules and qualifications. For U.S. citizens, particularly those with investment income, Puerto Rico can provide significant tax savings under the U.S. tax code, while maintaining U.S. citizenship. For retirees or those looking for tax-efficient residency abroad, the Philippines might offer appealing benefits, especially with its retirement visa program. It's crucial to consult with a tax professional or legal advisor familiar with the specific tax laws of Puerto Rico and the Philippines to understand the full implications based on your individual circumstances.

Happiness and quality of life is much more important than saving a few dollars in taxes. I live in Texas and the cost of livingbhas skyrocketed since these people from California and New York have moved here. A home in a lower class neighborhood near Downtown San Antonio that 5yrs ago sold for under 100k now is selling for close to $500k. House in my Guadalupe County neighborhood that sold for $160k 10 yrs ago are selling for just under $500k.

Hi. I have a friend who moved there for tax reasons and he tells me he pays no cap gains tax, long or short term, interest and dividends are tax free. A great deal if you make enough $$$ from investments. Also, under act 60 there is a requirement to purchase a primary place to live there.🤔🤔🤔

Yes, you have to by residential property in the first two years and invest $10K in a charity. They are amending Act 60 every year to benefit Puerto Rico more. According to my accountant, short term was not covered and I would have to live there 547 consecutive days before becoming a BFR…bona fide resident. Maybe those are new changes since your friend moved in. Staying 547 days wasn’t really in my plans
@codywy5579
@codywy5579 7 ай бұрын
@@TooMuchTimeonmyHands65 Hi, that number, actually 549 days, is in the definition of their presence test and is 549 days in 3 years. 549/3= 183 days per year in PR is the minimum. The tax savings begin the date you arrive but you will also need to go through the steps to enter the program in the same tax year. Best to go there early in the year to allow time for the process. They have made some changes over the years, but the terms in effect when you enter the program stay with you and cannot be changed for you. This info is current as of Summer 2023. I seriously considered it. It is a good deal if you can handle PR, especially if you are fluent in Spanish. Yes short term is tax free. Many crypto you tubers there talk about trading all the time with no tax consequences. Without short term included it would be much less attractive. Coming from the Phils, PR will look good 🤣🤣

When I found your videos on covered calls, I got so excited and want to try it right away. I have zero experience and not much more knowledge. The last 3 months I read and watched 100s of hours of videos. My biggest headache is to pick the right stocks. First, I don’t want to pay more than $1000-1500. I hope I can open an IB account without experience. Please do a video or help with the stock picking🙏🏻. Yes, it’s a great opportunity to make more money…just remember, if you sell covered calls in a NON IRA account, then all premiums, and profits from all stocks sold that you owned less than a year will be taxed at SHORT TERM CAPITAL GAINS….and any profit from stocks held longer than a year would be taxed at LONG term capital gains….make sure you account for that😉

For a low portion (%) of the portfolio, those may do okay. Specifically YM, but they have to be watched more closely for price fluctuations. They can be yield traps, or someone might make 25% watching which ones have the higher overall yields and buying when down some. A mix of other holdings to diversity- some of BDCs I hold have done well for a few years, like MAIN, CSWC and HTGC. Then others with call strategies and decent yields, like JEPQ. And then even safer, large ETFs like VTI, VOO, SPLG, XLK long-term. I'd stay away from Global X non-growth holdings, QYLD, for example, because of capital depreciation. Maybe some QYLG, TYLG, etc. instead.
@ottowokeninger9617
@ottowokeninger9617 7 ай бұрын
That's to say you want the majority of your holdings to appreciate in value and dividend growth over 3-5+ years, which the large ETFs are about the only ones I mentioned that are really reliable. Others should be weighted according to risk.

I was considering the same move for daytrading tax incentives. Hope to hear a lot more videos about both your trading and life in the philippines. I am in a very similar situation to you and looking to relocate to P.I. in a couple years for retirement. Best wishes for you and jenalyn.

This is actually true. Not to tourists, if you just go for vacation, Puerto Ricans are friendly. But if you do move down there for the tax incentives, you'll be hated by everyone. It's become mainstream in the news and pop culture to hate on people who move to the island just for the Act60 tax incentives because it's unfair for real Puerto Ricans having to pay, while wealthy Non-Puerto Ricans move in an buy up entire neighborhoods, historical sites, and public places, then going on to gentrify everything into private resorts, vacation homes, and raising the cost of living. And then on top of all that the current corrupt governor and his party who are pushing for statehood, they are open about how they know that these tax incentives are harming Puerto Ricans but they keep it up because they are using it as leverage to pressure congress to make the island the 51st state. So all in all, go ahead down to Puerto Rico for vacation, and if you have some sort of relation with the island you can move in, but if you just go for tax breaks and to exploit the island, then everyone will hate you.

I wonder if you could make a video for those thinking of coming to the Philippines (or any other Asian country for that matter) that talks about the financial preparations we should be making in the last 6 months before we move. Should we consider establishing domicile in a no-income-tax state to reduce our US tax burden? What banking preparations should we make? What should we do about social security (if we are the age to receive it), etc.

PUTs pay better premiums, and you can make great money and NEVER buy a single share of stock. Covered calls are very easy, and the is NO WAY you can lose money unless you sell the stock for less than you paid for….which you deserve it, if you do that. I do both….i do puts until I eventually have to buy the stock. Then I do calls until I eventually sell. Right now, I’m doing calls with a handful of puts each week

A little food for thought... I start out by selling weeklies on cash secured puts until shares are assigned, then switch it up. Once assigned, I'll switch to between 7 to 14 DTE and sell enough covered calls either ATM or ITM with the intention of converting about half of my account back into cash. That way, on days when the share price dips, I can sell CSPs for either a lower strike or more premium - and days when the underlying share price is climbing I sell the OTM covered calls.

 out of curiosity I read the regulations on Bona Fide residency. Your accountant is wrong on waiting 549 days. You could live in PR for 183 days to meet the physical presence requirement. The 549 days is another option to meet the requirement, where, if you didn’t live in PR for 183 days of the tax year you could still qualify if you lived in PR 549 days of the last 3 tax years. It’s an “either or”. Also, I saw nothing that would indicate short term capital gains don’t apply for the tax exemption given you met all the other requirements.

The numbers and statements don't add up. I have to be honest, not only because I am The Truth Teller, but because I have to call out BS when I see / hear it. It sounds like this whole thread of stories and videos was designed to get viewership and potentially leading to something doing with service offerings / trading. Suspicions are running high with you good sir.

Gonna do a video this week on covered calls and dividend reinvesting. Watch that and then come back and comment. There will be NO service offerings. It will be the only video that I do on it. I have already done 2 videos on the strategies that use. Go into my playlist and go back 7 months…watch those

Hey Kevin. I loved your interview with Mark. I found the discussion on stocks fascinating. However I wanted to ask you how your Rottweilers deal with the heat in the Philippines? I have a male Staffordshire Bull Terrier and I may have to take him to the Philippines. I don't know how he will cope with the flight from Australia, let alone the heat and humidity. Thanks in advance.

They spend most of their time on the cool tile in the shade on my porch, and they also have a couple of sand pits, and they dig holes and lay in cool sand. The humidity here is kind of bad. I have not seen any bulldogs, or terriers, but I know plenty of people with pit bulls. Most places that you rent should have enough shade for him when you have to leave him outside

I don’t think that’s a smart move to make for taxes yes but I’m only 28 years old and it’s crazy that I pay so much attention to all of the economies in the world.The cultural food in the Philippines eating food that come directly from the farm and the agriculture is what Puerto Rico doesn’t have.Don’t get me wrong Puerto Rico was like that at some point and time so was Hawaii but when the United States bought out both of them Puerto Rico 🇵🇷 and Hawaii never been the same.The second thing is because their is too much economic instability in Puerto Rico,the government in the Philippines isn’t the best either but for the most part they don’t push politics on there citizens🤔.The third thing is that the togetherness there isn’t much unity in Puerto Rico anymore like it used to me now it’s kinda like the extra poor people in Puerto Rico which are the Puerto Ricans against the extreme wealthy individuals which are the foreigners.In my opinion I would choose the Philippines hands down no doubt about it because I believe Asia is the future and it will be hard and become more complicated for other countries to compete with Asia as the world becomes more innovative other countries are falling more behind and all the countries in Asia are starting to out pace all of them.

I agree with most of this, but at my age, I would rather keep as much of my money as I can. …and I can definitely put it to better use than US politicians 😉

@@TooMuchTimeonmyHands65 the Philippines must have implanted a similar tax law to what Thailand just did this year.Thailand and the Philippines are trying to push out all high earners and unfortunately even if you are a retiree but if you are a high earner retiree then it will also affect you.The reason for this is because they want to attract more average earners,when you have more high earners in a country buying up property they tend to over price it and have most of the properties at market rate or above this is why the cost of living in Thailand and the Philippines had risen.But with the new law in the short term Thailand and the Philippines cost of living will continue to go up by 25% but in the long term as more high earners and retirees leave Thailand and the Philippines because you have to pay more taxes the cost of living will be going down in Thailand and the Philippines within the next ten years and beyond by 50%.

I am seeing the difference between your strategy and the s and p is about 15% with some of that lost to taxes. I see 4 prop firms that you can trade with other people's money that might be good for you or jenny. Maverick T3 trading group Smb capital And maybe optiver. I personally like the smb capital videos but I think they are a hard prop firm to get into. Most likely it would be easier for her to learn a new strategy for trading futures or currency with someone else's cash.. look forward to seeing your strategy.

I have 2 stocks that I have dealt with for about 4 years that work for me(her). Right now…if everything stays the same on opening Monday, JL will make $157 on her $2450 investment THIS week selling a covered call contract for ($2650)!!!! That’s 6.4% in ONE WEEK!!! That’s 333% ANNUALIZED(6.4%x52 weeks) THAT is what I do!
