Update on 8 killed in Gqeberha mass shooting

A large-scale police investigation has not resulted in arrests yet after yesterday's mass murder in Gqeberha in the Eastern Cape. The death toll in the mass shooting has risen to eight. The shooting spree by two gunmen initially left seven people dead at the scene, with the eighth person succumbing in hospital. Three other people were wounded in the incident.
The victims were attending a birthday party at a house in Kwazahele when the gunmen struck. Minister of Police Bheki Cele and national police commissioner General Frannie Masemola are expected to visit the crime scene later today.
SABC News reporter Lwando Nomoyi and video journalist Mcebisi Slengile are at the scene.

It's very rare for this attack to just happen for no reason. I think as people we should monitor our actions. Newsreader should also be cautious in asking questions not to put residents at risk

This is nothing new, its just being covered for once, last week 7 people were shot in a span of 10 minutes in the same area.

The confusing part is, that they shot everybody at the party. Normally in such a situation, they kill a particular individual. Its looks. Like its was a random. Killing.

Would have helped if SAPS looked after their Firearms and those sadly in their care. Unfortunately they don't. So stop saying 'gun violence' to punt your naive and foolish narrative If by some random chance the suspects do get caught. Please do some actual journalism and tell us exactly which firearms were recovered.

We called police at 00:00:00 this morning even went to police station KwaZakhele, told there were no drivers, until now no police pitched up.

Without sounding insensitive to the family who lost their love ones, for some in this country we have ignored issues and seek to blame everything to Mr. Zuma. At time we even seek to accuse a certain ethnicity for all our ills. The fact of the matter is that the whole of South Africa is ill, from north to south, east to west and everywhere in-between. The healing need to be done by many of us instead of one individual, inorder to have a functional society which respects one’s right to exist.
