Another great video! How about looking at some sub $100 and/or sub $200 radios? The cost vs (perceived) value is a personal assessment - but, your testing is an excellent base for making a decision (for me). Any commentary on the menu system would be appreciated. Keep up the great work.

I like this idea, and I will do my best to get some ideas. I am still purchasing most of these radios out of pocket which can get costly. Thank you so much for watching and leaving a suggestion! 73s

Thank you for watching and commenting! I hope you enjoy the radio, it has a lot of good features, and hopefully all of them are CLEAN now. :)

I got a TD-H8 during the Black Friday on AliExpress. Serial number starts with 202311: these units did not stay in stock one minute. Nice radio, feels and sounds good. I'm just missing the air band reception capability, which I would have expected from such a feature-loaded radio. I don't own (yet) a TinySA so I cannot check for spectral purity. Reception sensitivity and selectivity is not as good as my Wouxun UV-9D, but the TD-H8 is a quarter of the price of the old Wouxun...

Really appreciate you doing actual testing on the performance metrics in your radio reviews. Although I have a concern with this review since the manufacturer provided you with the unit. I would be highly suspicious that they cherry picked the unit they sent. It would be nice to see if the results could be repeated with a randomly obtained unit.

Thank you! Yes I know exactly what you are saying, and I've had the same thoughts. This radio was one they were sending me prior to me starting the channel. BUT that doesn't say its a "random" radio. At some point we can possibly just test a randomly ordered radio. 73

Another excellent video you have produced here, thank you!!!!! Have you managed to tear apart one of these tid h3 or h8? I wonder if hardware is better quality compared to Baofeng and quasheng radios???

Why is it that in your video shorts, you said it’s not fix yet (harmonics). While you’re saying in this one that the Tidradio did great job fixing it. I’m confused?

I almost bought one of those but i'm sick of returning junk radio's to the Jungle. I opted for a Nano VNA instead to play with my antennas until i'm confident the dud radio's have been weened out of inventory.

Nano VNA is a fun piece of equipment! I understand your frustration on the radios! That is one of the reasons I like making these videos, to try to inform other hams on how well these radios work (or don't.) Have fun with the Nano VNA, and thank you for watching and commenting! 73s

Can you do a teardown of this radio ?

I will add this to the list! I'm behind on the videos I want to make at the moment. It might be a few videos down the road, but I'll try to make this idea one of them. :) Thank you for watching and commenting!! 73

@@KC4NWK thx. I am curious if it has a stm32 or any easily hackable cpu inside. For custom firmware etc.
@KC4NWK5 ай бұрын
Well it might not be much help on the CPU... I can't find anything about it. kzfaq.info/get/bejne/eZagjLmasJy2XX0.html
