This was actually super helpful! We have a cruise coming up in November 2024. This will be our second cruise ever, going again with Royal Caribbean, and we are bringing our kids along this time, one teen, one tween. We were on the Escape in March, only thing I can agree with you on is the Atrium being crowded. They had the marriage show in there and you couldn't get near it. This should be in the theater.

Absolutely. Most everywhere in Cozumel does. If you get off the beaten path, they might not.

Cozumel for sure! I have been by plane 5 times since December 2022. Going back in November & January. Next time check out Gusto's Restaurant; it's 1.5 miles to the right of the Terminal. My friend Gustavo owns it and I go there and cook as a guest chef and raise money for the local animal shelter. So beautiful there, I'm too young to retire but want to move there.

I am not sure if I missed it but how far at the last two places from the carnival port. Like Chaankanaab and Playa Mia?? I seen that Nachi Tocum and Paradise beach had minutes from the port WE are Heading to Cozumel less than 80 days but not wanting to buy excursions from Carnival. I don't want to be a port runner either LOL but traveling with hubby and three kids so would you also say all four of those are good for a family of 5?

I believe Carnival ports at the same dock as Royal, so same distance. YOU are in control of when you leave these locations. We have always left with at least 2 hours before boarding time. That’s been plenty of time in the sun and to eat 🌞

Hello I'm from Cozumel, the best one is playa mia, very good for children, a lot of security in the water games and the food are amazing, plus they have stores inside and the chocolate tour

It’s extremely rare! Check tour company reviews on TripAdvisor and ask in FB groups to make sure it’s a reputable company. Check out our new cruiser playlist for lots more free tips.

We have not. There have always been plenty of options for us on the island. I bet there are some helpful blogs if you search “taking the ferry from Cozumel to mainland”. 👍🏼

What are the return to the ship on time guarantees for these beach excursions? They sound great!

Short answer, there are none since transportation is up to you. It’s up to you to catch a taxi back to the port on time. 👍🏼 All of them have a line of taxis waiting all day, so it’s very convenient.

Hi! I know you said on paradise beach it has a pharmacy at the entrance... If i just want to you pharmacy do i pay full payment to use it? I usually go to Mr. Sancho's

The pharmacy is right across from the checkout, so I think you could walk up and use the pharmacy without paying for entrance to the resort.

We haven’t ever been. Walking around in the hot sun all day just isn’t for us. But lots of folks love it. Take sunscreen, water, and an umbrella for shade!!

Myan ruins in Cozumel are “reproductions.” Have to go to the mainland for the real thing. It’s a 9 hour excursion from our cruise ship.

It’s a sea pass card. It’s your access card to pay for everything on the ship, your cabin “key”, and required for access on and off the ship. It will be tucked behind your cabin number holder/frame at your cabin. Before you get it, If you have a drink package, you can use your boarding pass on your app or just give your cabin number. Same for dining reservations. When cabins open, around 1:00, you can get your sea pass card. 👍🏼

There are many reputable 3rd party tour vendors and resort locations that are safe! One must still be smart and aware of his/her surroundings. Take advice from experienced cruisers and you’ll be fine. 👍🏼🛳️

I wouldn’t wander off on your own, but with a group or in touristy areas and resorts, you’re fine.

We’ve never been to the ruins. It can be a lot of walking in the hot sun ☹️, so it hasn’t been an interest of ours. I’d definitely suggest you check out trip advisor for helpful reviews and tours. 👍🏼
