UPDATED! Custom TL1000S (TLS) walk-around

After a LONG time coming, I have finally posted an updated video of my custom 1997 Suzuki TL1000S. I have had many views and all positive comments on the first video which I greatly appreciate. You will see however that MUCH has changed... here is a list of all the upgrades, parts, mods, etc... (as of May 30th, 2012) She's now a carbon fiber, lightweight beast. =)

Thank you! She was very special to me, but sadly I parted her out a couple years ago. Very difficult decision but I needed to pursue other endeavors. She lives in in TLs across the globe... And that makes me happy. =) She was an amazing machine and one helluva ride! Best wishes...

a whole lot of love going on here ghost. 15 min of carbon appetite with a few desserts added in for good measure. The bike has taken on this dark crusader feel as opposed to the clean green show bike of old. kind of resembles a drag racing / warhorse revamp! certainly worth the 15 min of pleasure... Be cool to go out side by side via hd pro cam... share the crusade bro!

Hey man, your bike looks very nice. Can see that a lot of time has went into the project. I have a stock standard 2001 TL myself. Picked up some nice upgrades on your video that I'd like to do to mine. Would have liked to hear you start up your bike to hear it with those cans.

Ohh i hear ya ive had some insurance issues so what they think is an 08 250r is actually a 556 super twin,,, stretched carrillo rods resleeved,,, you get the picture but sadly i may have to sell her in the spring to do the same!!! Did i mention my insurance on the (250r) is $16000 CDN!!! Yup thats not an extra zero.... anyhow ive saved both your vids for inspiration thanks alot i hope you do well in your endeavors buddy,,,, Whatever the Endeavor!!!Keep Safe i hope ya still ride tho....

Hello first off love you bike. I got a 97 my self and wanna know how you or were you got some off you parts from first is the lower fairings I don't care who thinks what I like yous and wondering we're I can get one in red? And the headlight is amazing, know I don't know if I heard you right that you made that? If so what would you charge me to make one for me I'll pay good just looking to make my bike looking good. I love these bikes their a monster and great riding. I'll send a puck of mine and see what you think I like the crank case to were did you get that would like one in red. Hope to hear from you , you have the hands down best tls I ever seen. Thanks . Justin

Hiya, great build. Where did your custom mirrors come from? Also do you find with the rifleman throttle insert any bump at low speed and your engine pulses due to the throttle response so twitchy? Do you have a link for lower fairing company?

The Zero Limits fairings are the same ones. They sell 2 styles, look for "Ghost" style... I donated my fairings for the mould.

Just picked up some front lower fairings for my 97 TLS1000 as well....but i dont have the clips to install them with. Do you know where i can pick up some??

Ghost360MAFIA gotta say i really do enjoy watching your work put into your bike. I waited and even blew off some offers on getting a bike because of the first video i seen of yours. Now that i have one, im still doing the small detailed work to get it kust the way i like it. #PROUD TLS1000 OWNER.

Nice bike but I'd ditch the nasty pegs and get some proper rearsets. They protect the bike better too as they don't fold up in a crash. Love the bike though.

Does the seat unit go straight on to the standard subframe? Where is the seat unit from?

That “TL” logo seat is just a cover. The vinyl with the lettering stitched on. It’s meant to replace your OEM vinyl. Remove the OEM staples and vinyl, stretch the new one on an re-staple. I got it from eBay years ago. It was quite a nice piece for the money. EDIT: if you meant the carbon fiber tail, yes, it uses the OEM bolt holes that the OEM tail used.

Hi Ghost360MAFIA could you help me with some detail on your rear suspension, how is the ohlins rear shock mounted , and where is the spring mounted on top? I am sure the rotary damper is removed..

Yes, the rotary damper is removed and the Ohlins mounts on brackets that come with it that are specifically made for the TLS. If you get an Ohlins for the TLS it will have all the parts and instructions. The lower mounting point is the same as the rotary damper, but after that it takes brackets that come from Ohlins.

I am getting a R1 '09 shock.. will make the mountings, if i use the spring on the shock it is probably no purpose for the spring on the side?

Hey I'm having a hell of a time find the clear headlight. Where did you find yours? Someone just hit and broke mine.

I made mine by hand from a clear headlight protector. It’s a lot of work and fabrication. You have to cut the old headlight apart and mould in the lens protector by hand. They don’t make a plug and play clear headlight for the TL. You can find more info at TLPlanet.com or TLZone.net
