This is my Honkai: Star Rail tier list after testing out a majority of the characters in game myself. Of course I do not have optimal relics for everyone yet, hence why the numbers fluctuate sometimes. But I only chose fights that are still fair given the relics I have on certain characters to determine their capabilities. Of course I could be wrong in some things since Im still just human, feel free to correct me in the comments, hopefully you can keep it civil though.

Herta's multipliers may not be gigantic, but she's honestly a heaven-sent solution for grinding away ice weakness shields. On top of that, she's unique in being a full-time field-wide attacker, which has earned her my effort to make numbers big.

Clara should be in the high S tier or even S+ if you played her properly. She has a complete kit, a high damage, multiple hits, damage reduction, taunt, debuff cleanse and resist.

Having used seele and clara since launch day, i have to say clara is the best dps, especially if you put m7 shield on her where she carries damage and tanks

I feel like Clara could be a tier higher, she is absolutely insane, she can deal a lot of damage while being a tank and the physical break is really strong because it scales with enemy's max hp%

@@Dendoi_ I wouldn’t say best, she’s really good against simulated universe or swarms, but weaker against bosses(especially bosses with status effects), and a bit inconsistent against forgotten hall, since she doesn’t have taunt. Seriously, why doesn’t she have taunt on her ult, it would be so much better, they could nerf the multipliers if it’s too broken, the enemies keep ignoring my ult+technique+march shield Clara somehow.

The fact that Asta and Zerval were placed so low makes me lose faith on the whole list. They literally carry in some fights like cocolia or simulated universe Gepard.

@@hedidit55 Have you even played the game then? Asta is straight up busted specially if you get a second copy of her. Once you get to build her speed and breaking ability she will without a doubt be top tier maybe even as good as Bronya without her light cone.

This os a general tier list. It's not just the pros, but also the cons are factored. Asta is GOAT, idk about Serval, but I do agree on where they are placed.

...asta eats up a lot energy ngl. besides of specific situations...awkward energy eater. u always want a more flexible unit. Asta comes in a very unversatile bundle of speed+atk, which limit ur team comp

I'm going to have to disagree, Asta is literally so good, should be at the very least A tier. I feel a huge difference without Asta in my team comps. I mean, for me, she boosts my teams attack by about 56% and speed by 38. Also she is a very good fire breaker, definitely one of the better characters.

the problem is, you usually have fire covered better by fire mc already. if you're gonna run another character that can't break shields, tingyuan is the better option for boosting your main dps by a lot. Or bronya for the same reason. and if you want speed welts debuffs can also do that but unlike asta he deals a ton of dmg on top of that and can easily break shields by himself. There's just a lot of better options around.

It seems like this is just a general tier list meaning that units with the highest value are placed on top. Character like bailu, bronya, welt provide more utility in terms of typing and are more flexible in terms of the teams they can be run on.

@@Daniel-du5ec This might sound surprising but not everyone use the fire mc. Speed is literally so so important in term based games. Shes also arguably the best shield breaker in the fire element

If hook is fighting enemies that are immune to fire (there are a handful of them, annoyingly) she’s kinda bad But oh boy everyone else gets shredded. I almost cleared world 6 first try with level 40 hook as sole dps

Eidolons are a pretty important thing to get into. Many of them cause characters to raise their tier, so it might be a good idea to go over which ones do that. Not everyone will have them, but a lot of people will have one or two characters maxed out. For example, Qingque - E4 gives her a chance to follow up attack at the end of the turn after using her skill (21% per skill use). This damage is equal to 100% of the attack damage dealt that turn to the target. This is a huge boost, bringing her up one or two tiers.

I know fire trailblazer is good, it just feels like she does 0 damage and other fire characters are far better at shield breaking. When you use march or gepard, it feels like you bring more value than just being a taunt bot. Idk 🤷‍♂️

@@hijisfriend9030 Fire Trailblazer is great at breaking shields, not Asta good, but still great. A big thing with Fire Trailblazer is that they scale off of both atk and defense (better defense scaling for sure though). Honestly though, Physical trailblazer is nuts. Mine doesn't even have a physical dmg sphere and regularly crits over 10k. Phys MC is also great at breaking phys shields on bosses especially if the adds also have phys weakness.

March is no where near fire mc lvl when it comes to defense. Also in terms of dmg fire mc's literally the bet in the psvn class cuz they scale off both atk and def

Honestly Asta should be higher in the tier list. For simulated universe world 6 you literally need her to break shields especially if you are attempting to clear it at EQ2. Throw on the 3 star lightcone on her which u can probably R5 it easily and even with one stack of charging she buffs ur team damage by 21.1% at level at least at lv4 traces .She is really a universal support and if you have welt on your team your enemies wont be getting turns anytime soon

@@Nhusab Yes, she is literally the only support in the game that can break shields. However you have to make sure she has the highest speed in your whole team so after you use her skill your whole team will be buffed

Oh, forgot to mention that revigoration reduce the damage taken by te team by 10%, and if you heal more than the ally have Hp, the ally will receive a 10% hp boost, and you can actually start with revigoration using her tecnique. Different from Natasha, Bailu's healing will trigger 3 times. One in the ally you selected and 2 in a random ally. It means it can trigger 3 times on the same ally, 1 time in 3 allys or 2 times in a single ally and 1 time in a random ally. Bailu is one of the most OP characters in the entire game, been able to save you in the most different situations and hard boss battles.

Being good at calyxes is worthless unless sitting there, watching it is your source of dopamine in this game. But most people just auto-play their way through calyxes: being fast at clearing them means nothing.

I keep hearing this misunderstanding about Tingyun's skill. Her buff does not scale separately on the target's ATK and on top of that sums it to the multiplier of her own ATK, like you said. Instead, the second % is a limit, meaning that the buff can never exceed the multiplier of her own ATK. So unless she has insanely higher ATK compared to your DPS that first multiplier is never gonna be at max. Still, that doesn't change how good she is!

@@frozenpelt967 Yes he uses the term, but not in that sense. He clearly says the skill boosts the ally's atk up to 55% AND ON TOP OF THAT increases their atk up to 27% of Tingyun's atk AS WELL. And he concludes saying "if you add them..." etc. What I understand by hearing this is that the two multipliers are separate and stack, in fact I actually had to go and double check since I'm not a native English speaker so I thought maybe I was the one getting the description wrong.

You’re right about one thing but wrong about another. It’s reasonable to have a main dps get the full (or almost full) buff. Tingyun’s buff gives % atk to the ally. This value is based on the ally’s BASE attack However, the upper limit is based on tingyun’s CURRENT attack, meaning after all relics, weapon buffs, simulated universe buffs, etc.

So about asta, she’s actually very good if you use her bounce skill with only 1 enemy as it pretty much quadruples her dmg and her ultimate is great when paired with Dan heng as they both use a speed based system (Dan heng slowing down enemy’s while asta speeds them up) [I wrote this before watching so feel free to void this if you wish to.] (Full image of his tier list is at 32:31)

Something I've done with Seele was trying to kill initially with her first turn to activate resurgence, activate her ult and get another kill to get 2 resurgences after the ult Of course that won't work on bosses, but on mobs, it works wonders

I have been using welt from the moment I got him and I gotta say he's great he can slow the enemies so much that you literally get extra turns for the entire team while he does a very good amount of damage. He straight up carries you

Clara is definitely S+ tier for me. I have her and Seele, and Clara deals more consistent damage on bosses and the world trial thingy. They both work great in my team as single target and multi target DPSs.

Living the dream bro! Using Clara Carry (Clara-March-Bailu-Tingyun) I realized how godly of a team it would be with Seele replacing Tingyun, it covers all the tanking and dps needs. I'm still trying to get Seele after losing the 50/50 to Clara

@liquidsky7 If you toss in Natasha then you'll basically complete the carry comp that I mentioned. You should be able to get to W5 with it easily if you level/build your characters well and choose the right buffs in Simulated Universe.

The easiest way to beat world 5 is through The Abundance path with the upgrade that cleanse debuff. It completely counter Kafka taking debuff and allow you to take in 3 dps without worry.

@@Kei.Kurono litteraly both if you use the 3 star loop lightcone on him at r5 it increases his dmg by 48% against slowed enemies and im pretty sure it stacks with his talent which does 30% more dmg against slowed enemies so he would be dealing 78% more dmg against slowed enemies

Still don't see the fire Trailblazer as that good. Might be bc I have Gepard. But I like my Phys Trail. He hits hard af especially at E6. Maybe for team 2 I'll use Fire as a tank for them

Tier lists seem superficial for characters when a light cone can make them go from D to S tier. I use physical trailblazer because my light cone gives attack up when they attack OR get hit. so she will hit elite enemies for half their hp

I think people are missing that point. You only need to shield your main DPS with M7 if they are low which completely negates the taunt factor of her shield. It's a gameplay quirk that casuals will absolutely overlook.

Guys I need advices, I got yangqing at my begginer banner and then I got another yangqing later on so I build him, but 2 days ago I got Seele so now I am in a dilemma idk what to do, I continue building my E2 yangqing or I build from zero my Seele? I'm so glad to have Welt as my 1st 5-star. Had perfected a World 4 run with hunt buff using Welt, Tingyun, Asta, Bronya.. Svarog literally didn't got a turn and didn't took damage the whole fight with a bonus of remembrance buff where they get frozen after # of hits. Right after I first tried World 5 with the same line up using Abundance Path but changed Tingyun and Asta to fire MC and Natasha.. It was so satisfying to see Welt gets turn after turn then ult and then another turn. It's ecstatic to first try W5 with only Welt as my lvl 50 character since I only recently reached TB30.

I got welt while trying to get seele. Got disappointed but still decided to raise him and uhmm... What the actual fuck is that damage? I seriously don't understand why no one talks about his absurdly high damage with his skill. Everything he hits that is slowed get ripped apart and I didn't even give him the imaginary relic set. Oh yeah, also he slows and delays too, I guess... Why the hell did we put this guy on B+ tier at launch is beyond me. I am actually semi-happy that I lost to 50/50 since I wanted seele for style and not for meta but welt is really cool too tbh.(Still not a speedy girl with a scyte but I'll take it)

Im keeping Ting Yun and Mr. Yang on my main team. My last 2 characters would be either Trailblazer, Dan Heng, March 7th or Seele. Im planning on gettint Seele, she's useful on finishing enemies off.

My tier list: If I like 'em, I use 'em. Thus all my teams have Himeko, March, or Serval. Usually, all three are with the MC because I like her too. Other than that? I swap out one of them as needed, except March she remains forever. I like Full Speed Mucacha, how can anyone think I would care about the best units? I do support God Doggos though, thus that is why I am commenting. So leave a comment talking about your favorite character girl or dude. But if you name a dude? Tell me why it is Dan for being the Mucacha of Honkai.

Feel like Physical Trailblazer isn't that terrible, especially since you could get that F2P 5 star light cone from Herta's SU store, seems to dish out more damage, actually, he seems to be dealing quite a lot of damage. Trailblazer in general is amazing. Plus, tons of enemies I encounter usually have physical weakness which is why I stick with physical Trailblazer, especially with SW in my team which can just send a ton of debuffs and set Trailblazer up.

Yes! I've seen a lot of people say the Physical Trailblazer isn't great, but he's one of the most useful for me since he does a ton of damage even on enemies who aren't weak to him compared to a lot of the other characters. He's a huge damage dealer, for sure. I don't really care for the fire, but that may just be because I have Himeko and Gepard, which basically fill in the roles the fire could.

Btw i keep seeing some pic posting about how to build every character, on their detailed guide i found that some character has weird eidolon composition like E4 > E2 > E6 I don't understand at all, can you skip the eidolon straight to your desired level or what? It doesnt make sense but i keep seeing these types of guide

That means some eidolons are better than others. The mechanic of leveling is same as Genshin's.

What does it even do to building progress? You cant skip the one below so eventually you will get the imprints in order by default It doesnt change my priority vice versa so i just found it weird. Even if i know that lvl 4 imprint is better than lvl 2, what could i do if i will still take the worse one first before my desired option.

@@aprianhamdan1795 building progress is the same, it just talks about build priority. Like it tells you if it's worth pulling for higher eidolons or if you can just stay at a lower one and be fine. If E1>>>E6>E4 for example, that means going for one dupe is very worth it, but going for more has diminishing returns. E4 doesn't have much of an impact and E6 has a decent impact.

idk if this is for everyone but for seele, if you use her skill and use her ult before she defeats an enemy, i was able to attack with her like four times

Yep, but there's a far better combo you can do to the same effect, but it charges her ult after ur done Ult>skill>skill (you HAVE to kill an enemy here)>skill It recharges your ult faster, and if you actually kill 4 enemies with this combo, her ult is fully recharged!

Yes definitely. Then After pulling 300 times (30 x10 pulls) on the regular banner (not beginner banner), you get to choose a character and you can pick Bronya if you didn't get her already by chance.

As a Danheng main. I can say his set up to maximum dmg is a bit complicated (esp if you use Swordsplay on him. Very good imo!). But omg, those high numbers never fail to make me smile :)

@@anxease oh, same actually, I go for atk% mostly. For body I use crit rate, and wind dmg bonus sphere. I can say I'm pretty lucky with substat crit dmg which is why I use crit rate. But Danheng's traces and light cones are helping with crit rate so maybe it's better to invest on crit dmg more. Well, I have his lightcone, subscribe for more and swordplay. I have tried all of them and swordplay (albeit a bit hard to use) does more consistent higher dmg. Hope that helps!

I can’t wait for him rating Blade. He does exactly as Arlan does. Both are destruction but play differ in element as Arlan is Lightning and Blade is wind. Their Skill ATK enhances damage but loss some heatph

if you want to use clara you have to use march 7, personally i use clara, march7, seele and natasha. this team lacks debuff/buff and some cases shield break but really "tanky" and comfortable with shield+heal and 2 debuff cleanse, high single and aoe damage

i realize in that video, the bailu still haven't build yet. if you build bailu well, it'll literally a broken healer.. you can revive 2 chara at the same time when they die (for the first time). and just focus on her HP, and outhealing% .

Whats best is that HSR is a pve game that u can play at your own pace. Dailies stuff can be done really quickly and theres auto play too for the tedious stuff So if u like a character a lot, u can 100% make them work even if they may take more investments in terms of gear/team comp etc On that note, this game is freaking dog sit coz two of the characters I want the most are Sampo and Arlan. They are even just nat4s but game decides to give me almost e6 herta, asta and hook before i get a single copy of shampoo or arlan😂😂😂

The characters I use Are Welt, Dan Heng, MC, Natasha, Bronya and Sampo. My main team used to be Bronya, MC, Dan Heng and Natasha but I realised that I needed more damage dealers especially after I switched to Fire MC, so I was raising Sampo and then got Welt who I realised is just amazing, because of the debuff + damage dealer I switched my Bronya with him, and I had her at E1(because I lost 50/50) and I'l say that was a very good decision to make. While Dan Heng is an amazing dps, I adore him. The onky one I would love to switch is Natasha for Bailu but havent gotten her yet :c

I think QingQue will be better later down the line for HSR day 1 players will have some cons for her and so will whales which will improve her overall gameplay and she will prob be really good on a full buffer team centered around her she might be niche in the fact that you just build her straight damage with barely any speed for her to really get a nuke off but as we get more supports and better builds she will def fit on a super fast support team with Bronya prob with the supports having a lot of speed to where if even her rng doesn’t go as planned she can still hit hard and if it does go to plan she will absolutely destroy

I think QingQue is a high pilot-skill character to be honest. I see so many players use her wrong and its just annoying. Like, you should probably never through 4 skill points into greeding for an enhanced basic attack unless you have Ult in the bank to fix your luck. People treat Qingque like a high skill-point character when in reality she's an skill-point efficient character than can optionally dump points for high DPS burst if necessary. Is Qinque some secret top tier? No, she really isn't (though she *might* be with e6, idk). But she's a very competitive AoE damage dealer in a rare element that brings a lot over Serval at the cost of being more complicated.
