Noco GB70, Fanttik T8 Apex & Hulkman 85S all go head to head to see which jump-starter is the better one. All 3 units have 2000A (Peak), only difference is the Noco GB70 has 56 Watt Hour Battery, and the Hulkman 85S & Fanttik T8 Apex have 74 Watt Hour battery. Stick around till the end to see what happened.

I recently bought the Hulkman 85S. It had great reviews and when I bought it, it was at a really good price and I like the fact it has cold weather preheat function

I have 3 different jump starters including the GB70. In my experience the Noco units dont seem to perform as well as cheaper Amazon units I have tried. The Noco seems better built though.

It's the batteries noco uses. It uses a 3 cell lipo battery that puts out 12.6 volts. . A lot of the cheaper ones use a 4 cell lip at 16.8 volts so it spins cars over faster. The new NOCO Boost X series fixed the issue and now uses 4 cell lipo batteries as well. I have has the gb70 and gb150. The new gbx75 and gbx155 make the old ones look bad 😂. Definitely recommend the Boost X series from noco now. Jumped a old ford 6.9 diesel with the small GBX55(and both batteries in the truck were COMPLETELY DEAD).DEFINITELY love the new ones.

It might help if you rewatch the video, because if you looked very closely to our video, you would indeed see that all the units tested in this video, were connected to the battery with a great connection. Please answer me a question, if all 3 units were hooked up the exact same way, why did the Hulkman and Fanttik have absolutely zero issues jump starting, and the Noco which was hooked up the exact way was struggling to jump start? Keep in mind I love my Noco, but for some reason it struggles to jump start only my Cadillac V8, as shown in the video. The Noco works on every other vehicle I have tried it on. If you watch our countless Noco GB70 videos, you will clearly see that the unit struggles with our 2004 Cadillac V8 with Northstar for whatever reason. Whether you believe it or not, the Noco was hooked up correctly 😭 Thanks for the comment

Something is wrong with your noco. I work for aaa and use the gb70 all day everyday and have no problems. I get a year and a half out of them. Seems like your battery is weak like one of my old ones. Test them with a battery tester and see the amps..

My Noco GB70 jump starts ALL my other vehicles with no problem. I just have an issue with my Cadillac V8 for whatever reason. So I don't think the Noco is the issue, it may just be the Cadillac internals thats the issue. Who knows. Thanks for the comment

NOCOs are junk in comparison to what's out there on the market today. I personally recommend the Yesper Armor over a GB70 any day. It's half the cost and more powerful. By NOCOs own admission, their GB series of jumpers are overrated. This is the reason why they came out with their GBX line. The rating on those are supposed to be "certified". I carry my Yesper Armor on the job specifically to jump dual battery diesels. This thing is a Beast. With NOCO...you're just paying for useless features and their name.

To be fair to Noco, Noco offers a great product, but my Noco GB70 has been hit or miss on my 2004 Cadillac Deville V8 for some reason. My Noco GB70 jump starts every other vehicle in my fleet, but the Caddy is hit or miss. Do you have a Noco? If so, what kind do you have, and what issues are you having?

@@HM_RELOADED Based on good experience with Fanttik tire inflators and other reviews of the T8, I ordered a Fanttik T8 Apex last week. You definitely gave the NOCO a fair shot. It's just not up to the job for a Caddy.

@softwarephil1709 I still struggle with the Noco GB70 only on my Cadillac V8 with Northstar to this day. The Noco GB70 works on most other vehicles in my fleet, but there are a few times when the Noco GB70 has issues, like most products, to be fair. Everyone has different experiences with the exact same products for whatever reason. Example: 20 people, all with a Noco GB70, may have 20 different experiences depending on user error, defective unit, certain cars not accepting a jump start, ETC. I am here to show exactly how to use certain products and show you the experience I have. The Fanttik products are great products as well. We have a few different Fanttik videos on Fanttik T8 Apex, Fanttik Max, and Fanttik tire inflator. They all work very well and are heavy duty. I appreciate you watching our videos. We will have a live stream coming up within the week. We will be giving things away like an Amazon gift card , portable jump starters, and possibly tire inflators as well. Depends on how generous I feel that day. Lol

does the hulkman timeout on override mode? i have the fanttik and it times out at 30 seconds on override mode. i have a noco gb50 that doesn't timeout, i know the new gbx line will timeout at 60 seconds, but the old gb line doesn't seem to do that. theoretically if you have a bad alternator you could use the jump pack to drive the vehicle a short distance to safety. the gb50 i have is underpowered and slow to charge so looking at maybe getting a hulkman 100, just wondering if it times out on override.

I do believe the Hulkman times out after a certain amount of time in the over-ride or boost mode, but I will double check. I hear the Noco GB150 is a beast, so I'm sure you would be happy if you got one. I'm going to get the Noco GB150 as well, I love that feature when you could see your battery voltage on the jump starter.

@@HM_RELOADED i love the voltage readout feature too, that's why i went with the fanttik. the gb line of noco doesn't use usbc and and charges too slow though. what about the gooloo gt 4000, does that timeout?

@@kevinmast5832 I believe the Hulkman and Gooloo time out for 30 seconds in boost mode after multiple cranking attempts, it's over current protection I believe it's called. So basically it times out after multiple cranking attempts in boost mode to protect the unit, car, and you.

@HM_RELOADED

I recommend all 3 of them highly. But if I had to take one it would be Hulkman. Hulkman has a nice LCD screen which I think is a must when getting a portable jump starter. Also, the Hulkman is sleek and heavy duty, which makes it a perfect choice. If you need any recommendations, please feel free to contact me. Thanks again

LOL, that's not how it works. Assuming they are fully charged, a jump starter should only be using a fraction of its total capacity per start. Since NOCO has released the GBX75, I suspect your GB70 is the oldest of the three, even if it is new to you as you have no idea how old the stock was when you purchased it, and is no longer outputting its rated power. Peak amps is a meaningless number...look for the Project Farm reviews to see how to actually measure output.
@HM_RELOADED
@HM_RELOADED 2 жыл бұрын
Regardless how new or old an item is, if the Noco GB70 is rated and Advertised to jump start vehicles up to 8L, then the Noco GB70 should start V8s, no question about it. It really doesn't matter how old or new a jump starter is in one's eyes, the fact of the matter is, if the unit is rated and Advertised to jump start V8 engines then it should. Obviously the Noco GB70 is not starting my V8 Cadillac because it's an older jump starter, that has absolutely nothing to do with it. Also, how come my (old model) Noco GB70 has jump started 4 cylinder, 6 cylinder, and a few 8 cylinder vehicles in the past week, surely the Noco GB70 would not of started those other vehicles and not my Cadillac if the jump starter is not putting out its rated power . Let us know if you think it's a different reason. Also, if the Watt Hour Battery has nothing to do with it, then we really are stumped why the Noco won't work on the Cadillac. We do appreciate your comment, hope you have a great day

@@HM_RELOADED .. Your V8 is a 4.6L, well within the range that the gb70 should be able to handle, i .e. 8L. It would be interesting to know the cc. size of those other 8 cylinder engines it was able to start. Also when you started the those other cars, i assume it was assisted with battery attached .. it would be good to know the starting condition of the battery too - voltage. The fact that the engine can start with the T8, and H85, suggests it's not the car. If you want to remove the question of battery size, run the T8 and H85 down to 50 % capacity.. That should be less than the gb70 fully charged.. And then use them to start the car. It is very possible that there is a fault within the gb70 that is limiting the amount of cranking amps that it can deliver.

@@HM_RELOADED .. You could try measuring the amp output from the battery pack using a clamp meter - you will need one that can measure up to a 1000amp.. Project farm had one he used...Ap-570c .. But some amazon reviews point to quality issues .. so maybe another one. Not sure if it is fast enough to capture the necessary.. That may provide the answers

He didn't make the claim that when you use a battery jump starting device, that it will fully deplete the charge in the device. Now, to explain this in simple terms, a larger Amp Hour rating will deliver 12 volts, but at a higher discharge for longer duration. Think of it like this, if you have three men, all of equal size and strength, and they are all carrying a load of 1,000 lbs, then that load is spread over three guys. Now, compare that same 1,000 lbs being carried by 10 men, all of the same size and strength of the original 3, that load is now spread over more men. So, by comparison, the 10 men will be able to not only carry the load farther, but also able to maintain their initial speed longer than the original 3.

I don't like using my tripod since it doesn't show close up shots unless I have a camera person, which I don't. I like to show up close shots of my products, sorry if there is a little unsteadiness, even though I have the shake-free mode turned on, guess it's not working that well. Lol. When I do product reviews I use my tripod, but when I want to get closeups I hold the camera and go from one product to the other. Sorry about the shaking. Have a good day
