I bought one brand new in 1992. It came in a plain white flimsy box and a simple paper saying that the spikes and knife are not to be used as a grappling hook. Nice knives. Mine is never used. Can't imagine carrying 184. Thank you for your service.

Sounds similar as I remember the grappling warning. Never really used it due to the weight

Great video. I picked up an old Buckmaster from the pawn shop for $20. Super heavy, seems unbreakable which is amazing for a hollow handled knife. That toughness probably makes the weight worthwhile if you go with this for your rig

I'm English and have a 184 and love it. Not 100 % useful, but as you Yanks say...its BADASS!

Enjoyed your video. Now days those 184s are pricey. I wish I would have bought one years ago. Been carrying a 124 in a Carl Thomas cross draw sheath.

I bought a 184 because it is a legend and quality among buck knives

Bought one of these knives in the 70's...liked it at the time but found it cumbersome and when wearing it balance was an issue..As you know this knife was tested by the Seal community who chose a different style knife due to weight issues...But for standard ass kick it was a keeper...Alas I finally trade it in the 90's..

I got a 185. It doesn’t have a pouch on the sheath. I don’t know if it came with one or I lost it. Peace ou.

Say Heah, Yup, I have a Buckmaster #184 It's OK, but to be honest, I liked carrying my Randall Made Model # 14 better, I had a Griffin Handle put on it which is a one finger groove handle, and in O1. But I also have a twist apart Buck Multi Tool in one of the pouches on my Buckmaster, Oh, I changed compasses also, I now have a Silva Huntsman with signal mirror in the lid, it's just a little thicker because of the housing, but other wise the same size. Oh, those anchors weren't use to grapple with, they are anchors to hide your gear in the rivers, Anyhow, that's how we used ours. Dilly, Dilly.,,.p

Actually those Anchors were designed to be used on Embassy Spikes that top the walls of All US Embassies . A little known fact , for climbing the walls in case of a Neo Op !

TheSwordpoint9 where did you get that info from, I don't believe that, I don't think I would trust it with my weight, and I'm around 185 lbs.,,.p

TheSwordpoint9 But when we recieved ours, There was a warning about the weight it held up, I believe you, but I think the info is different, maybe ours were made different, I dunno, Oh and ours are made in the 425 Mod. Steel, Dilly, Dilly.,,.p
