This is my 2 months update on the Dr. Martens 2976 Quad Platform Chelsea Boots. I haven't fully broken them in yet, but now it is easier to put them on. In this video, I also talked about how not to get creases on your new boots if you get a pair for your fall/winter wardrobe. If you also have a pair, I would love to hear your experience and tips!

I own this pair as well. I added another thin layer of the insole so my feet were really snugged to the leather upper to minimise the creases.

Cool boots! I just bought some regular lace up Dr. Martens but got the one with a zipper on side. I’m too told to be struggling to get my shoes on! 🤣 I do love Chelsea boot style but that was my concern, having to struggle to put them on.

Yes it is insane how challenging to put them on and take them off when I first got it. I looked struggle in the video, but it is so much better compared to the first time lol. I am waiting for the weather to cool off in Texas so that I could wear them outside 😆

I have the Rometty I used the balsam and massage the boots 👢 every day and kept doing this for 5 days then I worn the boots 10 hrs out side no problems

Try putting a water bottle in them & switch every 9 hours or longer. That’s how I was able to stretch the top part so I can put them on easier. When I first put them on they were so tight, I even ended up twisting my ankle trying to get them on so I tried putting a water bottle or anything to stretch it & now it feels so much better. Still breaking them in tho. I can run in them lol they are still tight & I got them almost 2 weeks ago. The main thing I’m struggling with is my right foot rubs a little on the back of my ankle but I’ve never bled or anything & my right foot is a little bigger so it just feels tighter overall on that foot.

I totally understand you were saying 😆 The boots are tight and narrow, but they look so good on feet though. I probably should stretch them out like you suggested. I have had it for about a year now, they feel better on feet but I can't wear them more than 4 hours 🤣 I wore thick socks with this pair of boots from the beginning so I don't have the rubbing issue

I am a women’s size 7 in boots and sneakers. I’m a width B in women’s shoes if that’s a help for others. I bought the women’s size 7 and it fit perfectly. I’d suggest to stay with your regular size. Putting them on the first time was hilarious 🤣. I’ve been wearing them in the house to “break in” putting them on. The entry is freaking difficult to slide into for now. They look positively Bad*ss!

Thanks for sharing!! I agree with you on staying with your regular size. I have been trying to break it in and the “neck” is still very narrow 🤣 and tough to get my feet in! I do love the look though, and I just got another pair of Dr. Martens 🤣

I just bought the same pair yesterday with the same size i usually buy when buying adidas its my first dr martens boots and i am suffering its too tight and i am thinking to get one bigger size! What do you think?

When I first got mine, it felt impossible to get my feet in too, these boots take a while to break in! I am afraid you may still have the same problem with a bigger size due to how narrow the boots are. You also don’t want to get something too loose, your heels will constantly brush against the back when you walk. 😅

I would be ok with the creases once I started to wear it regularly, but that happened after the first time I put them on 😆🙈

@@FromJenwithHope I did try to condition it and use a little heat from my hairdryer. That seemed to help with the creases a little 🙈

I like the video, but i don't understand whats the problem with the creases. I really do wonder that they don't have much more creases. Its absolutely normal and there is nothing one can do against it. Especially these Chelsea Martens crease like hell over time. For me personally the creases give the boots more character, which i like. But yeah, everybody is different. Avoid kneeling down with that jadon Chelseas not only to avoid creases but to also avoid splitting of the sole. It occurs regulary on the platform Martens cause there is massiv stress on the plateau sole when kneeling down.

@@cheesim Hehe, now i understand. I have 30 martens and one pair is a Jadon pair. The Jadon Leather feels like plastic and in fact the coating of the leather is a mixture of leather fibers and plastic. This coating creases (often very large creases) very easy and breaks after a few years. My made in England do also crease but the creases are smaller and the creases look, how should i say... more natural. But i love these Boots so i don't care. Unfortunatly no males are wearing Martens platforms so its very awkward to wear them in my city and i rarely wear them. :-(

@@Marcus_Berger1701 Wow, 30!! You are really a pro with Dr. Martens! That’s very impressive!! I understand what you meant the boots have some kind of plastic coating, probably why they develop big creases. Natural leather creases beautifully, almost feeling like part of nature. I will have to try out their made-in UK boots! Glad to hear the quality could be better! I used to be so afraid of what people thought of what I was wearing, but with the situation we have been in for the last couple of years, I slowly got over the fear and just wear what I love. I only live once, and I am happier now that I care less about what other people might think. If anyone wants to laugh at me, I am glad I provided some entertainment 😆

@@Marcus_Berger1701 I will definitely want to get a pair of made-in UK Dr. Martens. I am not entirely free from other people's judgment, but I am doing much better now. One of the reasons I created this channel is to understand and accept myself better. I found it helpful to document and discover my own style and preference through making videos. For me, self-acceptance is more important than what other people think☺️

It may be easier to put on if you are sitting on a chair or sofa.

Even on their website, these are listed as unisex shoes, so yes, they look great as long as they match your style. Because of the height, they do look more dress up, probably not so much for casual everyday. However, I do want to point out, they could be hard to break in, it is impossible if you have wide feet. The narrower profile does make them look so good on feet though.

Sometimes it’s more about proportion too. If you also have long legs then these may not be the best, otherwise, these will lengthen your legs and balance out the longer torso 😊

I would say they add about 1.25 inch to my height. I love Vans design, but do they have platform sneakers?

@@cheesim thx..no don't thinks so. vans are soo thin. a friend of mine is 5'6 but I noticed the other day that he's my height in dr Martens so I guess they add quite a lot. kind of awkward..

No kidding, when I wore a platform shoes, I suddenly understood when people said stand taller... I felt like literally on another level 🤣
