Does the Santic shoes run smaller, bigger or true to size? What’s the fit like compared to shimano’s?

I’d say they are true to size in my size but their scale is a little off. I’m a 41 in shimano and went with a 41 in the end with Santic. But I originally asked for a 40 cause according to their online chart the 40 was the same as a shimano 41. But it was way too small so I had to change them for a 41
