There is a focus on money in general by many influencers never mind old or new. Let’s be honest. Materialism is rampant. All of the unboxings and what I got for my birthday etc. Causing the impressionable to want what they cannot afford. That said, I enjoy these videos for the lifestyle. It’s a fantasy/entertainment for me, but sometimes it makes me want more. I remind myself to live MY life and appreciate it as it is and not try to emulate and live an influencer’s life.

As one at the tail end of long life ( with surprise heart attack.at73) I am heartened to hear the comment about this being for entertainment only..as it ,after initial vieiwings, became. The "modern version" of Models and Movie Stars telling how THEY got Their. Start..how they climbed life s ladder What they gave up..how they enjoy their rewards... So rock on " Influencers" I learn how to " get the look" or " what a Safari or Dive into the Maldives" entails these days..as I did London and Paris. New York , Athens in My Day..inspired by Models etc.

Amelia 100% true ref treating an ex as though they have passed away. That is always my advice to friends - not easy but I have done that myself. Have commented a couple of times on here but you dealt with your past situation brilliantly - not easy, but you gathered yourself, found your strength & did not allow it to keep you down & since you seem so much more carefree & doing exactly as you want - your confidence seemed to grow - I much admire you for this.

Please forgive me, Amelia, because I’m about to complain/bitch for the first time in my life on any KZfaqr that I lovingly follow. Before the bitching, though, I’ve followed and loved you well before the sad wedding breakup and also have gone back to watch your first video and all thereafter. So the bitch is about whomever did the choppy editing, trying to cut out natural pauses as if it costs you money by the microsecond. (Does it, though? I mean, if it does cost you, ok, I can deal with it, but none of my other favorites that I follow cut up and destroy the natural speaking flow.) This video is so chopped up that it’s like my orthodontist just overtightened my braces and all I want to do is demolish by chomping with my teeth a whole bag of raw spaghetti like somebody feeding fir trees through a chipper. (Lol, got carried away there with my Pacific Northwest heritage and having uncles working in the forest-logging industry. (My nephew is a state forester, so “chopping” is in my genes 😅.) Anyway, I still love you, your family (and future family) and will always follow you. But fergawdsake’s, pleasantly tell your video editor to knock it off with the overzealous cutting of dead spaces 🙏🏻 ❤️.

Never miss an opportunity to ground yourself Amelia. Walking barefoot in the countryside, plunging into the waves or laying in a field staring at the sky always makes you feel better. Whenever my son is feeling down I always say to him 'go walk up that mountain son or plunge into the ocean and you will feel better'. He goes and always comes back and says 'yes, it helped tremendously' Nothing but you and nature is the best medicine ever xoxo

Amelia, your advice regarding a breakup is spot on. When I found out my ex-husband was having an affair, I ended the relationship, even though I was still in love with him! Letting him go (my choice) felt like he'd died! So that's exactly how I handled the aftermath of our break-up!

I wrote my English lit BA thesis ten years ago on Edith Wharton’s work on the rise of new money in 1900 New York and the clash with old money high society. It’s of all ages I think, but people get obsessed again because of random triggers like Sofia Richie and Succession, amplified by TikTok and algorithms. Good on you for ignoring all of it!

I loved this vlog. Was so honest and cosy. And I do remember your Rome trip with your sister. You had a meet up there with subscribers. Also Hannah wasn’t feeling well and I was so worried about her back then. But I am glad you mentioned this new trend on Tiktok. I thought I was the only one being so annoyed by it. As someone who loves and wears colours every day, was annoying to be classified as “new money” cause I refuse to wear beige and black. Hi there @Jill Martin ! Complete stranger here that just bought a house very near bordeaux in France we're 45 min from ocean so its really not bad and have a salt water swimming pool (summers get extremely hot here). But sometimes i dream of living IN NATURE.. we havent moved out of our apt yet and i think i will feel more grounded in our spacious and airy house but still day dream a bit about living surrounded by real nature... Though I like being in (small) cities too, eating out , window shopping and getting inspired. Was wondering how you think live etc :)?

Ok so I’m going in to points 😂 - need Estes’s links to the full outfit !! - Duke is just a vibe !!! Got to love your dog giving you teenage moods 😊 - old money/new money chat - totally agree! I’m a no money, but I think it’s it’s just a style evolution we all go through and a bit part of it is trends. What annoys me is that these days the younger try to look older so so early in their life, instead of living their life and enjoying and I do blame the social media a bit for it, (TikTok specifically) - LOVE LOVE your vibes after the trip ! Loved this Vlog! Really really enjoyed that solo trip you took, I would absolutely do the same. It inspired me A LOT. Regarding the trend of old money, I do agree and think it’s silly. I think 99% of trends of TKtk are silly and that’s why I’m not on there. I think the app is very toxic whilst being normalized. I understand influencers make a ton of money off of TkTk and get tons of interactions and follows very fast and easily, which is rewarding. But Amelia, if I’m being honest, you do follow trends a lot. I have followed you for years and you seem to always follow trends… Which is fine, as this is part of your job. I love your personality and your outlook on life and that’s why I like following you on here.

I agree about this whole quite luxury trend, it''s a trend, it doesn't need to be talked about In such a reverential way. Some people like to dress extravagantly, some people like to dress modestly and everybody else is in between, it's nothing to do with financial status. The longer the vlog the better as far as I'm concerned. ❤

I think the new money vs old money has come from Succession. Tom Wambsgans wears a new brand of sunglasses that are more hip (new money) compared to his wife Shiv Roy (old money) who wears a standard pair of aviators. The show is my fav and would highly recommend it. People want to fit in and be snobs, as it may raise their self-esteem and hide their social class insecurities. I think the whole old money/new money thing is really interesting. I think for me I just prefer cleaner lines which maybe fits into the old money aesthetic but I also love the LV, Celine, Gucci, Fendi etc logos on bags! I dont think you have to be one or another. At the end of the day it is just another trend that some people will stick with and others wont. I'm not into trend dressing and I do wonder if the "old money" thing is becoming more popular because its classic and people are getting bored with trends and fast fashion! That being said, I don't think that dressing in "old money" style has anything to do with wealth either. Some of my favourite outfits are from H&M and Arket accessorised with a vintage designer bag. Very weird that its turning into a judgement of people! x

I can completely relate to what you were saying about auto immune diseases! Auto immune diseases also effect all the females in my family (mum, myself & sister) and we all have different ones. However my sister and I were both diagnosed with a rare chronic pain condition called complex regional pain syndrome (CRPS) which is already rare as it is, let alone for two siblings. I also have endometriosis which I have been struggling with daily for the last 2 years along with 3 surgeries in the last 18 months. Also agree with the “old/ new money”, why can’t people just wear or buy what they like and express themselves in a way that they feel most confident & comfortable? We should just be able to wear what we love without any judgement, our style naturally evolves as we do too. I have found myself recently being inspired to invest in more “elevated” basics and building a “capsule” wardrobe that feels comfortable and sophisticated so I can get the most west out of my items and struggle less with “finding something to wear” but still have fun. I definitely get alot of inspiration from your style! Also your trip and the scenery looked absolutely magical ❤

I haven't seen anything about old or new money but I do see the trend of wearing neutrals and less color. You looked so happy spendimg that time alone with the horses
