Hello Model Railroaders! This video is a DIY tutorial on how to tune up an old locomotive and get it ready for service! I will be taking an Athearn "Yellow Box" Genesis and taking out the current decoder, speaker and old lighting effects and upgrading it to today's standards. About the Rotary Beacons. Aaron Heine Electronics FB no longer exists. Last I read he is no longer making the beacon circuits. To spend more time with family. I sure hope he is ok. Such fantastic product.

Agree. It was a great product! But Family First! Maybe he'll make a comeback!

There's another company, Ngineering at Ngineering.com. the only thing with that is you have to build up the LED'S and use his simulator. I hope this helps. RR Bob.

Awesome Job! One question is where did you get the Stratolite? I can't find that guys product anywhere.

That stratolite was from a company, Aaron Heine Electronics part number RB1. However they recently went out of business. You may find them on Ebay.

FYI- To anyone looking for an Aaron Heine RB-1 circuit, I am sad to inform you that Aaron quit building the circuits at the end of 2020.
