Welcome back to our weekly vlog series chronicling our family's surprise trip to Universal Studios Orlando and the Wizarding World of Harry Potter. We spent a total of 4 days in October 2020 experiencing all that the resort has to offer while staying on property at Loews Royal Pacific Resort. In addition to the immersive 360 VR videos of attractions being uploaded to our channel, we are releasing (chapter) installments of this behind the scenes look at our special trip. Future new episodes will be released Fridays and Tuesdays.
In Chapter 2 "The adventure begins", we depart on an early flight to Orlando and check into our home for the next several days-Loews Royal Pacific Resort. We spend the day checking out the resort, pool and the benefits of upgrading to "club level". Although club level rooms had been sold out, we were able to upgrade upon checkin to gain access to the club level lounge/food.

When you all raided the club lounge snacks, I felt that in a real way. 😜So much so I booked a two night stay at Royal Pacific. So excited. Great video!

We have tried "Club Level" twice. The small lounge was usually filled with kids watching TV. We were always the only people at the bar. We observed that it was often used as a safe place for parents to leave their kids while they adventure elsewhere. The "free" drinks were beer, wine and well drinks. My Dewar's was reduced, but not free. Although the snacks were nice, we preferred to go where there were others to talk to. We won't be buying Club Level again.

Looking forward to staying at RP for the first time for us in just a couple of weeks. We don't have club level though. Can't wait to check it out. ~Dawn

It’s very beautifully decorated, and they are so good at communicating with their guests. I found that after I stayed there my first time, all of my standards for hotels have gone up

Universal actually does have kids meals, but for some reason they aren't advertised on a lot of the menus or in the the Universal app (been over a year since I checked the app though). You just have to ask about kids meals when ordering, theg usually have them in the 6.99-9.99 price range.

I'm not too far from Orlando, about an hour and a half away. Royal Pacific looks like a nice hotel..I personally have only stayed at Cabana Bay on-site and a few other off site hotels. Have you stayed at any of the other resorts?

So far, we’ve only stayed at Royal Pacific. Cabana Bay looks really nice and we’d like to stay at Hard Rock some day.

Wondering how your family did having to wear a mask for such long periods of time? Love to go but haven't since the mask mandate.

It really wasn’t that bad-you just get use it. We went in October 2020 and there were a couple hot days. The key is to plan breaks (we always came back to the hotel for lunch and dinner if we could).
