Ive just installed tasker as this is exactly what i need automarically with the hotspot that annoying just turns off and on at times... ill provide feedback soon once i get in my car. CHEERS!

If you have a Samsung phone you don't need Tasker to turn on Hotspot, just add it to your Routines

Great video! I like when someone explains the steps. Those with music are a pain! I am having big time problems getting my unit to work as I wish so hopefully your advice helps. I did not know about Google Play Store Subscription either. I subscribed and liked.

if you use a samsung phone bixby routines should be easier to set than tasker

@DavidMosby you should try using it. It is called Mode & Routines. My Driving Mode settings: When connected to Car Bluetooth, turn off Data Saver, turn off WiFi, turn on 5G, then turn on Mobile Hotspot. What is best about it is they will return to the original state after disconnecting from my car Bluetooth. I always feel so sad that the Samsung users are not using Modes and Routines. I rely heavily on Tasker, but Modes & Routines does a lot that Tasker can't.

hi there, if it has zlink pre-installed that is much better than headunit reloaded. do not swap them. devin is just saying it as a substitue if you dont have zlink. zlink is the preffered app rather than others. thats why it comes preinstalled with that rather than any other one. hope you understand. thanks

@@fathimafaiz1666 Thanks a lot for that information! Is Z-link a paid for app that they just so happen to include in their head unit price (or they pirate it). I have another Chinese head unit that has NO linking app in it at all. Just the plain Android Bluetooth and WiFi, so you need to hotspot it manually for internet access.

To manually start HUR like in your video for me it's not working. With a hotspot connection and AA server enabled touching the wireless button on the HUR UI does nothing. Only using Wifi Launcher app I can get wireless AA with HUR working. So, were is the trick in your video?

Did you turn on "Wireless Android Auto" on your phone and press "Start Head Unit Server"?

I cannot do it either I bought a used car and they replaced the stereo with a boss touch screen I basically have only been able to connect via Bluetooth and play songs on my phone but it doesn't show on the car screen, but I can see it has android auto and apple iplay but it's greyed out I can't touch it but on my phone I have it and my tablet but it doesn't pair with the car so I can have my phone on the screen, idk what I'm doing wrong, not to mention I bought it private and the didn't install the USB so I usually connect wireless which is already on my phone. What am I doing wrong ,do I have to use hotspot on the car as well?? Cause it's already on my car all I have to do is hit the device button and press my phone but it doesn't show anything on my car stereo screen!!!

@@zoraidasousa2072 Your Boss headunit may not actually be an "Android Headunit". It might have it's own software so this video might not help. I'd suggest trying to figure out what model you have by comparing it to other headunits online, such as Amazon. That way you can see if it actually has wireless capability.

@@AutoJourney It shows up on my phone and I try to press it, on the unit in my car it says android and apple but they are greyed out so idk what to do also the person I bought the car from didn't even finish setting it up,I have the USB cord that they didn't install I can Bluetooth my android or iphone and listen to music they have the amps and the bass speaker installed but they didn't install the backup camera, so everytime I backup it say plug in camera which they didn't give also afterwards I noticed there's no antenna so no radio reception I tried different antennas but non got reception it sucks wish I knew this all before, there's no book for car or upgraded system.

hi i purchase the app and i try wired method but when i plug the type c cable into my Samsung a34 (android 14) the phone shows that android auto is connected and headunit reloaded recognize the phone in usb settings but nothing happens its stays on HUR screen : (( please help

I was told by my installer I can't use my FM radio at the same time as GPS. He said to install Iheart app and then use my favorite channels.

Question on the Tasker app you mentioned in your video. Does it work between the iPhone and Android head unit? I was told it only works on Android devices.

Tasker is an Android only app. What exactly are you trying to accomplish with your iPhone? Apple has its own app "Shortcuts" that may be helpful depending on your needs.

You should be able to set the default launcher in settings. Possibly under "Home Screen" or "Default Apps" and then "Home app". When I set up Nova Launcher and pressed home for the first time it gave me the option to select a default.

you have to set tasker to the 'basic mode', tasky.. then search from there. popped right up. if you've already tapped into the 'advanced mode', the 3 dots upper right menu has the option to switch to tasky.

Do not, I repeat, DO NOT use Android Auto on these headunits IF YOU ARE GOING TO MAKE PHONECALLS while driving. The way the mic is setup is absolutely horrible and you will only give headaches to the people on the other side of the line!!! If you arn't going to make phonecalls, go ahead and use it, it's awesome!

This is a very generic android headunit. Similar to anything you'll find on Amazon under "Android Double Din Car Stereo 7 Inch ". This one had 1GB of ram and 16GB of storage. Not great.
