I work in new product development at Evolution, thanks for your review of the Mitre saw and batteries, it's nice to see you happy with the tools. When we did the battery cut testing for this product we did it as honestly as we could, we took production machines, production batteries and bought 3x2 CLS from Wickes as an end user likely would be, and we used this in our testing. The results you see on our site are from these tests. We know that most of our competitors fudge the cuts per charge testing with all manor of tricks, from keeping batteries in fridges to cool them down to reduce heat build up before tests to drying the timber out several times in kilns to get the maximum cuts possible. We know this as we have had an engineer work in our department who did this testing at one of the biggest power tools companies in the world. (I'll not name any names but they are extremely highly regarded as an industry leader) We also bench marked products from the lime green company with the data on their website and got no where near their claims with the quoted batteries and materials One thing to note also, if you are doing a lot of finishing work arch and skirts ect, our 24T 185mm wood blade will give a higher quality cut finish, but also has a thinner kerf (width of blade teeth) which means you will get even more cuts per charge. And it was a surprising increase of up to 30-40% in some cases for a difference of 0.2mm in kerf. Cheers

600+ cuts from that 8amp hour, just how much cutting could a man need in a day? Even if you're on the tools you'd not do that much, surely? Where did you get the filter sock from, that's a great idea.
