Great video, I bought a crashed Powermax Eagle, and had to replace the display, and I found an e bike mechanic, and he did the work because I knew nothing about it. Now I'm making it my own and considering brake upgrade. An old trick i learned similar to the dirty fingers/paper trick, is use an old piece of a lumber crayon, or even a reg crayon to transfer the bolt holes(strip the paper off the crayon). It will look like a photo of the part. I just had to make gaskets for an antique tractor water pump and thermostat housing, and worked perfectly. Also for "water proofing" get a can of liquid tape, use after shrink tube and /or tape, it seals the ends very well and integrates into the wire sheathing and the spliced area. Nice o ring solution, also seals out moisture. Kinda made my insomnia worth it at 2:30AM.

I have been looking at changing my brakes and I was sent your video for me to have a look at. Do you have a details of the rotor please. Can I also say that the way you come across and explain everything is so clear and it's a joy to watch and listen to. Thankyou for spending the time to make the video.....I hope that doesn't come across as "puffy".

Hi Geoffery, sorry I missed this message. Not "puffy" at all my friend..... Hey, I believe you already did your rotors, but did you try using organic pads with them? I've been running the tektro E10.11 organic pads and it got rid of all the squeal! Nice progressive feel to the brakes too.... Cheers

I just installed the Hope front rotor with organic pads. We have some 4-5 percent grades I ride up. I'm amazed the bike carries me up them in PAS 4-5. Coming down my brakes are hot and smell like the truckers coming down the Ike Gauntlet!! Thanks for the upgrade tips.

Hi Lance, thanks for watching! I am really enjoying my Ranger and hope you like yours too! I have left the rear stock rotor on my bike, but I did install the softer and quieter organic brake pads. I am now very satisfied with the braking on the bike, very positive and no noise! As you probably have seen, I replaced the front forks with the Himalo air forks. It was a relatively inexpensive and easy swap and by far the best improvement done to date. If you are going to be riding rough terrain I highly recommend it! Cheers

@@lifebehindbarz60 hey thanks for getting back to me. Yes I'm thinking of doing the forks looks like a good upgrade. Do you have the part number for the 180 to 220 adapter for the front. I don't think it is the same adapter for the rear do you know? Also I've seen some guys busting their spokes with 220 rotors. Do you think they are too much for the bike? Have you had any issues? Thanks for all your info.

Hey do you happen to know a compatible brake line and olivets. Just replaced the front shock and rotor and my line is to short. Frustrating. I contacted cyrusher here in Utah and they don't really stock parts. I told them if they wanted to up their game in the review world for ebikes they would stock parts. We shouldn't have to order parts from China.
@lifebehindbarz60

Hi Lance, I have heard of others having the same issue when replacing the stock fork with the air fork. My brake line was long enough that it wasn't an issue for me. Check out ebay item number 265078028571, it's a 5mm brake line kit that should work fine for you. You will need to re-use the existing threaded fitting , but it will come with new inserts an ferrules. Just so you can keep riding until the kit gets here, try rotating your bars and levers forward until you have a bit of slack. That should get you by. I agree completely, Cyrusher has distributors on every continent and every one of them should have parts available. Cheers

@@lifebehindbarz60 Thank you for the info. Yea I did roll my lever down abit but I also had to push my shocks up an inch through the trees to get it to work so mine must have been really short. on the ebay list is it the BH 59 or the 90 option. Once again thanks again

@lifebehindbarz60
@lifebehindbarz60 8 ай бұрын
@@chrisstoeckl Hello, good catch. My and every other Ranger I have seen came with 180mm rotors. There are always exceptions and variations when talking about components on any bike. Sometimes things get swapped due to an item being unavailable at the time of build. For some reason your dad got some smaller rotors. He will definitely want to upgrade to bigger, these bikes are too heavy for 160's! Try this combination for that bike, Ebay item number 394750070974 (160 to 203 adapter) along with 203mm rotors. This will work great for you and be a huge improvement. Cheers

Does your lamp work or did it just destroy the controller? I checked with the manufacturer and they said, the light output is only rated for 3 watts. i am thrilled !!! The usb port only supplies a maximum of 0.5 amps. thats nothing. probably only suitable for uploading the software. - great !!!

Hello, no the lamp I show here works beautifully. I'm not sure what the draw is but it must be below the 3 watts. I currently am not running any headlight for less of an ebike look and more of a mtn bike look. Gotta do everything you can to be able to ride past the park rangers without being stopped! Cheers

Hallo, I like your new Front Lamp Style, but does the front lamp in this Position have enough distance to the bracket of the fork when it is fully compressed? Kind regards
@lifebehindbarz60
@lifebehindbarz60 Жыл бұрын
Hello, funny you should mention that! With the stock fork it does clear fine, since the fork has just 60mm of travel. But, today I'm installing a new air fork that has 170mm of travel so that mounting location has to go! It looks like for the time being In going back to the stock location. I will be making a higher bracket and mounting position soon though.......

@@lifebehindbarz60k, thanks for your quick reply. I will also mount such a lamp then I'll put mine a little higher since the current fork has a bit more travel (about 75 mm) as you said in your replacement fork video. Hello, can the magura 180/220 adapter also be mounted on the rear frame of the ranger if you want to replace the brake disc with a 220? Or do you need a special adapter for the rear frame? THANKS
@lifebehindbarz60
@lifebehindbarz60 Жыл бұрын
Hello, yes the same adapter and rotor can be used on both wheels. I'd suggest replacing the stock semi-metalic brake pads with organic pads at the same time. These pads are softer and will give you a really nice progressive brake feel...... and get rid of 99% of the brake noise and squeal. Cheers

@lifebehindbarz60

Hi Syl, the 15mm screws hold the adapter to the fork and the stock longer screws hold the caliper / original spacer to the adapter. The longer bolt goes on top, shorter on the bottom. Cheers
