Hiya mate! I finished it about a year ago and keep meaning to do another video on it but life took over, though I am determined to get it done in the next month or so. After this video I changed the bridge to a gold tone pro's locking one which required plugging the old bridge post holes with dowel and re-drilling, had the wiring removed and re done with decent stuff, cts pots and a switch and an orange capacitor. The pickups I went with a duncan sh6 distortion humbucker in the bridge and its sh6n in the neck. I added the Iron age killswitch and replaced the cavity control cover, poker chip and V shape plate with gold anodized and engraved ones. That and the locking tuners and strap pins and its all done :) I did have a crazy idea to get it re-sprayed half black and half purple sparkle, kinda like how Schenker has his V but.. maybe in future I will do it just to push it far beyond what is sane lol. But yeah overall I'm really glad I did it all, it was a fun experience and I still play it just as much as my LTD 1000 series guitars! It's held up well over the winter and summer months not needing any other work or tweaks. Playability is great, I get on well with it and to me it sounds just as good as my LTD guitars. Maybe had a little less sustain, but then it is very lightweight compared to the LTD's.

Yeah I went for zebra style for the pickups in the end. I actually bought a gold cover from Seymour Duncan to fit over the bridge pickup so I could keep the gold look but, despite buying a humbucker spaced pickup from them and the humbucker spaced cover, the holes in the cover didnt line up at all with the pole pieces on the pickup 😢 I already had the pickup cover engraved so couldnt return it and I couldnt be arsed to try ordering another cover as I just wanted to get the project done so just left it. I reckon they sent me a trembucker spaced cover you know. Maybe I will revisit it soon, and try again but the zebra looks kinda cool with the binding also!

You might be able to squeeze a set of Emg's in but the cavity doesnt have a lot of space, but you might be able to get a 9v battery in there. Deffo let us know how you find it when you get yours mate, will be good to hear about your experience!

@@Skunkwerx Sure i will do! Have also the crazy idea to reshape the body and to smooth the inner cuts out to become more of a regular V look, but we'll see :) Looking forward to your video and thank you for the inspiration.

Hey man! So, bit of a long answer but I was playing it a hell of a lot and still loving it. But then we had these mad heatwaves in London, then I got a couple more tattoos so took a break whilst those healed, then we had to have some building work at home and the dust was unbelievable so all my guitars have been in their cases since probably June! But… now thats all over I was just waiting on some parts for it which were delayed for a whole month… though they should be arriving this week, and when they do this guitar will be going in to the tech for more upgrades and to get the bridge sorted too! I’ll make another video once its all done :) All in all, yeah, still loving it, and can’t wait to get it back in action!

@@Skunkwerx Damn man, you pretty much made up my mind, lol! I was weighing between this guitar and HB's SC-500 Vintage in White as my first HB, but I already have a LP style guitar (Epiphone LP Gothic) and I don't currently have a V shape, so I was leaning that way anyway, but your reviews pushed the Victory to, well, on to victory! lol Will be ordering it as soon as it's back in stock...the import duties to Canada are gonna kill me tho. :( Cheers!

@@klauswigsmith It’s crazy the value for money the Harley Benton brand gives. My other guitars are Ltd’s and a Fender, and sure you can tell theyre a higher quality but considering theyre around £1000 more expensive the Harley Benton has so far held its corner well. Funnily enough the parts I was waiting on for it just arrived in the mail actually!
