I love upgrading stock Ibanez guitars, I have 4 RGs and they've all been tricked out with upgraded pickups, coil splits, etc. I never want to get rid of them.

Just picked un an Ibanez rg6003fm for $75. and then ordered a full wiring harness kit with pots , 3 way switch, output jack everything all done up from Gunstreet then I ordered DiMarzio D Activator pickups, Hipshot HM ibby bridge, Hipshot grip lock locking tuners, Graph Tech TUSQ XL nut, Hipshot o-ring control knobs, copper shielding tape and Ernie Ball skinny top heavy bottom Slinky 10-52 strings. Will be doing a fret job on it when all tore apart as well. Leaving nothing stock lol

awesome, the soldering is very clean and precise, the pickup selection is an interesting one hopefully they blended very well
@voornaam3191
@voornaam3191 Жыл бұрын
Did you learn soldering? 1. solder both sides you want to join 2. put some solder to the tip of the solder iron 3. heat the thing you want to solder 4. apply solder to the HEATED thing, that is important, do not use the solder iron like some brush 5. mind the temp, avoid overheated solder, good solder shines, overheated solder is dull and that is no good. So, use a soldering iron with a temperature regulator. Or work fast and avoid too high temp. Things can be quite easy, but you got some problems. Welding a ground wire to the Strat spring holder is a classic one. Such parts are often chromed, and chrome does not like standard soldering, you often need to scratch the chrome away at just a small spot. And then you are facing a pretty large chunk of metal, it takes a certain amount of soldering iron power to heat it up. And another worry is the wires, in the past those were copper wires. Great for soldering. Today you see metals other then copper, and those can be like hell, they refuse the solder. Summary, stick to these soldering rules and you will get experienced. There are people capable of soldering chips with large numbers of pins. These guitars require only basic soldering, still, better do it carefully and good.

Yamaha Guitars are some of the best quality from the Kaoisuing Taiwan Factory, they sound amazing with these upgrades. Wilkinson Vs 100, Dimarzio Evolution/Seymour Duncan Bridge and Single coil Swap out, Grover Locking Tuners, Electronics, and over kill Shielding on the Pickguard, and Cavities. Stock pickups sound pretty good, and Ive found each Guitar can sound amazing with either the Duncans or the Dimarzios, as I have done a lot of Tonal comparisons on many different models etc...I did a 90's RG 270 (Korean model) for a Family Member, Gotoh 1996 Floyd, Evolution, and Grover mini Locking tuners, that is an Incredible Machine as well with the Upgrades and Cost if you can find a Bargain on one JFYI! Keep Rocking Fellow Shredmasters!!!!

That's the way to do this. Nice job. Better tuners, better nut or zero fret, better bridge, active pickups, it is always worth the money. Just one thing, KEEP the original pickups, inside the guitar case. One day you might want to know how it sounds from the factory. These Ibanez pickups are not bad, thing is, there are better ones, but I think that depends on your band. When you play Buxtehude, that is not exactly Wagner.

I'm really confused about your fret levelling ? You marked up the frets as if you were going to level them in the usual way with a levelling beam but the video then shows you taking off the markings with a Dremel tool. How did you get the frets level and properly crowned using just that or were you just using the Dremel to polish. I've never seen anyone level and crown frets like that. Was there a bit if the video missed out. Not criticising, just interested 😃
@AnjudaGuitars
@AnjudaGuitars 2 жыл бұрын
Good point! Just as you say, I use a beam like eveybody else to level the frets. Is not in the video because one or two earlier videos was about that. I thought there was no reason to show it again.

@AnjudaGuitars 2 жыл бұрын
That´s a good point replicant. Being Ibanez, the bridge is actually a Gotoh, not branded though. I´m not completely 100% sure about this, but I pretty sure that Gotoh makes the gear for Ibanez. And about the Hipshot, you are absolutly right, I just didn´t know about this bridge. Thanks for watching!

@@AnjudaGuitars Thanks for the reply and letting me know that the bridge is unbranded Gotoh! @@ErebosGR bone is made up of fibers and has a diffusive/damping/absorbent affect on sound. All the bone nut is going to do is muffle the sound and kill harmonics. Bone nuts are a marketing scam. Plastic has better bass and treble characteristics. Paul smith did a study on this. Not to mention if bone is not constantly being fed calcium and other nutrients it crystalizes, gets brittle and breaks. Bone is one of the worst materials you can make a nut or bridge out of. Brass is the #2 worst material.

I didn´t. There is a reason for all of that. That bridge, being cheap indeed, it´s exactly the bridge the costumer wanted. For the frets, they have a huge impact in the sound, and a lot of people desn´t like that typical stainless sound.
