Before the installation of the new 16GB is required to check with manufacturer, if the motherboard and the processor CPU handle the 16GB. In this particular case DELL indicates for this model a max 8GB and intel Specify the i5 Intel support 16GB. @@franciscosardi7246 hi again and thanks for the answer and sorry to bother you again but i still don't know how to use the intel portal and on their website they say i7 5500u can support 16gb of ram depending on memory type and my motherboard model is a dell 064DYJ version A00 does it support a 16 gigs or you have a different motherboard maybe ? ( when i tried a command in that bios window they say that my limit is 8gigs but the processor company says otherwise so I'm confused right now XD )

If Intel says your computer processor support 16 Gb. it is a 90% of the confirmation done but you have to investigate more. I searched using google and found 2 people who confirmed for my model it works with 16 Gb, they installed it and work fine. If you don't get any info in your searching only option is to get your 8 gb Memory ram technical information and find one similar with 16 Gb and check if it work. good luck!
