Im currently doing matric, and battling with physics and maths. The goal was to get something close to a distinction this term for both subjects, and that wasnt possible. I felt discouraged honestly. I would hate to have to go through the process of rewriting, but your experience has helped me look at it at a different angle. And hopefully i can apply the attitude you had towards getting those great marks first hand. Thank you for the inspiration ❤

I'm 32, upgrading my 30%s & 40%s (after studying for a diploma that was the one option). Currently scoring distinctions, can't wait to go study something that I actually like.

personally speaking from my experience, im currently doing my matric year and maths & physics has become my biggest nightmare. i genuinely begin to think negatively about school whenever I have a physics or math class, I dislike these subjects. it's only term 3 and I can tell that i wont make it. I can see that im going to fail both subjects when i reach my finals, which is in 28 days. im so unhappy with these subjects so I asked my parents to re-enroll me in a school so that I can repeat my matric year in 2024. for someone like myself who want to go into the healthcare industry (medicine), investing in an extra year of school in order to achieve great marks so that I can obtain a successful admission into university is important. im not only repeating my matric year to get distinctions in my subjects, but also to ensure that my marks are high enough so that I can study through a bursary/ apply for financial aid (not a student loan lol)

You gave me the courage to go back, even if it's late in life but I want to pass away with happy heart that my marks are good.

I was upgrading this year(2023) and I couldn't apply at UP because when I entered my marks the course I wanted didn't appear. So I wrote them an email but unfortunately they replied and said that they only considered those marks because I'm already in possession of a matric certificate.
