Be super careful and always empty the lint tray after every use!! That is just a fire waiting to happen. You also need to get the dryer vent (from the dryer to the outside of the house) cleaned regularly as well.

Looks like a condenser tumble dryer so probably no vent to outside, but yes definitely need to empty lint every time!!

Think we were all shocked at that amount of fluff in the Tumble dryer 😮😱 that was For sure a huge Fire Hazard Please clean fliter after every use, had. A few neighbours that sadly lost everything due to the tumble dryer 😢 I hate them feel they use far too much electricity ,i much rather hang my washing outside ( mostly i do come frost etc ) . Love to hear your Family history 😊 Great video have a Good week 🥰
@W0rdsandMus1c4 ай бұрын
Joe I worked in Dry cleaning/Laundry for 50 years, I never use a tumble dryer they fade your colours and all that fluff is your clothes getting thinner, if you do use one look at the care label, a square with a circle in it means tumble dry, if there's a cross through it do not tumble dry, always clean the filter after every use, if it builds up it stops your clothes drying and is a serious fire risk, hope that helps you, I will stick with my clothes airer, also they don't cost anything X
@vallee31404 ай бұрын
First thing I thought when I saw that, fire risk, I clean mine after every use.
@katiek18564 ай бұрын
The detergents we have available these days for laundry do a much better job preventing color fading. Also, don’t tumble dry clothes with jeans and towels. Do those on a separate load as they will wear out your clothing when washed and dried together.
@W0rdsandMus1c4 ай бұрын
@@katiek1856 It's not the washing detergent that takes the colour it is the banging against the metal drum and heat that does the damage, I have seen so many people in Laundrettes put all their washing in one washer/dryer suppose they are saving money, but by the time heavy jeans, jackets and towels are dry you have ruined your lightweight things.

Another solution to your racks is to just put another shelf supporter in the middle! This will distribute the weight more and prevent it from bending, AND you wont need to replace the other ones and make unnecessary holes :) Hope it helps

I recycle my dryer lint, as it is great as a fire starter! (That’s why you need to empty it after each use!) I just stuff the lint into empty cardboard loo rolls or paper towel rolls to use as a fire starter. Some lint can also be used in compost piles. I’ve also used dryer lint to make homemade paper in art school.

I loved your episode 'Who Do You Think You Are'! I bought a VPN subscription just so I could watch it 😅 (I'm in Sydney, Australia, lol). I would absolutely LOVE a whole video of you talking about it and showing more from the folder you have and explaining any bits they cut out. This sort of thing is right up my alley, made even better coming from a fave online creator 😄 My mind first thought of Robert the Bruce being your ancestor, since my own grandpa used to swear we were descendants of his 😅 (my grandpa hasn't been proven right, but also hasn't been disproven tbf 😂), but then realised that'd basically mean you were distantly related to the current English Royal Family, which DEFINITELY would have made it into the show 😂

As an American, watching a friend from across the pond learn about tumble dryers was great. I grew up with one and only air dry knit-wear like sweaters or anything that shrinks like cotton fabrics. Anything is able to go in its just important to be mindful of shrinkage in material when heat is applied or if the item is a "delicate" item like bras etc.
@Louisescarr19724 ай бұрын
0mg joe the fuff from the tumble dryer should be cleaned after every use as should the water be emptied out of the water draw / tray. As for what you can tumble dry well it tells you on your clothes love. Most designer stuff cannot be tumbled or at least that's what I've found and I use my condenser tumble dryer like yours every day.

dryer tips! that drawer you pulled out collects the water, I usually empty it every time but you can just when its full but do check, the lint draw again empty every time you use. In my opinion most underwear and socks and towels can go in (apart bras) but you can check clothing labels too, the square with a circle in it and either no dot, one dot or two means it can go in, if its got an x through that it can't, hope this helps!

Check the labels on clothing to see if they are safe for the dryer, some wool or fine fabrics could melt. Lint trap should be cleaned every load ideally but at least every few loads, machine works best if cleaned out. Should clean out the hose to outdoors once in awhile or it can be a fire hazard, but don’t be afraid to use it, we use the dryer pretty much everyday. Oh, make sure the cover is on the outdoor part of the lint hose or…….squirrels and or bugs, maybe a mouse will get in the house through that opening. 😂

Jo. Most of the world does not use clothes dryers but here in Canada most of us do. I brought a friend over from The Balkans and they did not understand what a dryer was at all. I do put most of my freshly washed clothes in the dryer...however good blouses ..delicate materials NO DRYER. In Macedonia i hung everything outside on the balcony and it was dry in 20 minutes. Well when the temperature is 40 degrees Thats the way it is. Oh and no jumpers in the dryer. You need to empty the lint basket after every wash.

So funny seeing what Sky did for Groundhog Day! In the US, on Groundhog Day there is a groundhog named Punxsutawney Phil in Pennsylvania that predicts if spring will come early or if there will be six more weeks of winter. He has been making predictions since 1886 (they say he gets his longevity from drinking the "elixir of life"). He doesn't get it right most of the time, but it is a fun tradition! The prediction depends on if he sees his shadow or not. If he sees his shadow, that means six more weeks of winter. This year he didn't see his shadow, so that means an early spring! I know this all sounds ridiculous, but it is all true.
