Absolutely love this build! Can't mash the thumbs up enough! I have a 96 Impala SS that could use the same treatment. She's been awesome, but ready for a serious upgrade. Thanks for choosing the Caprice for this build.

Hey guys, that steering box is 3 turns lock to lock or 1 1/2, the way it was described I'm not sure what you meant! Thanks.... I realize this is a older recording.
@OriginalMomo
@OriginalMomo 5 ай бұрын
It’s 1.5 turns from center to lock in either direction, or 3 full turns from full left lock, to full right lock.

You guys need to stop spewing marketing information from your sponsors and tell the truth Cross drilled rotors don't run any cooler there's less mass there as a heat sink They really don't do anything anymore except for looks cuz they were originally designed to stop out gasing of the pads The pad technology has improved so much that's not a problem anymore

They literally do, drilled and slotted rotors let more air come in contact with the pad while braking. I work at a circuit track it’s not just for show we see a good difference of brake temps especially on cars with brake ducts. You know nothing of what you’re attempting to speak on.
@darrenporsch
@darrenporsch 4 ай бұрын
@@MulattoGunner Yeah of course you see lower temperatures on cars with brake ducts The ducks bring cool air from the outside to the brakes has nothing to do with cross drilled or slotting

@@MulattoGunner From Motortrend Cross-Drilled Disc Brake Rotors: Do They Really Work? Marlan DavisAuthor Apr 25, 2018 Cross-drilling brake rotors supposedly helps vent gases created when the resin bonding agents within the brake-pad material begin to break down at extreme temperatures. When this happens, the pedal still remains firm while the friction coefficient decreases, causing a loss of brake effectiveness. Racers often refer to this condition as "green pad fade" or "outgassing." With new-tech, preburnished carbon fiber or ceramic racing brake pads, this gas buildup is no longer a major concern. Less exotic street-pad components are still subject to outgassing, but only when used on a racetrack at extreme temperatures rarely, if ever, seen on the street. Another theory was that drilling multiple small holes in the rotor surface increased the coefficient of friction between the pads and the rotor because all the additional small edges let the pads bite more effectively. But today's modern carbon-fiber pads are designed to operate at higher heat levels where the friction coefficient is inherently higher, so any additional hard-edge bite is superfluous. And all those added small edges eat into the pad material, shortening its life. That leaves only potential weight savings and (if you are into profilin') visual enhancement as the primary reasons why anyone would drill rotors today. Nevertheless, there's a big potential downside to drilled rotors: micro-cracks that propagate out from the holes. This can be a particular problem for street-driven cars. We'll get into more details on this problem next time.

I think he means two identical cars, one with drilled rotors, one with solid rotors, both with brake ducts, the drilled rotors will run cooler, i have seen this real world with datsun Z’s
