In this video I change some parts on the Tamiya VQS to alloy, change the ESC and talk about my plans for the body. In the next video for this series I'll be painting the driver, body and wing and finishing the buggy off. Enjoy!

The VQS is so Underrated although now the new release parts being stronger and alloy makes it so so much better and is a good looker too will be interesting to see the finish mick as may be a copy cat and do something similar well at least the alloy upgrades as there a must now for sure and make it heaps more reliable , cheers as always another great video :-)

G'day Andrew, I agree very underrated buggy. I think the best part about this build is the G11 part from rcEvoLogic, that one will never break! Copy away mate, will be good to see your VQS if you do it. Hoping this one will look good once it's painted. Cheers mate! 👍

Keen to see how you go with attaching the driver. I'm doing the same at the moment and think I'll try what someone said in one of the FB groups about putting a screw through the roof hole into the top of the headrest and gluing down the sides. I'll probably tape it in position first to make sure it all works
@RCHobbyShed
@RCHobbyShed 2 жыл бұрын
I think that idea will work too. On my Top Force cockpits I've just used Shoe Goo to stick them in. It's quite good because you can use it even where there are big gaps. I guess plain old silicone will do the same thing too. 👍

Very good close up look on the modification. Bottom alloy covers is a good choice, the original one is plastic which easy to be out of shape and cause the diffs or gears sit not in place. The rear alloy c-hub can be paint one / two cloths of transparency paint to cover the bare metal and protect it, or you can try to dye some color on it.

This looks fantastic Mick, think I'll copy it . Got too many boats to fix. Dam things are more trouble than the cars . But it's the hobby, we break and upgrade . Part of the fun. The used delta force boat we bought has a massive motor , 40 100 fast electrics with a castle 240 amp esc. 6s 45 inch boat. Don't know what packs they used ,has big bullet plugs . Maybe nicads, boat is at least 10 years old. Can't complain for $300 . Have a good weekend mate. Nice work as usual.

Thanks Peter! Go for it mate. Haha yeah, adding all that water into the mix can complicate things. That's right mate, it's all part of it. Kinda strange running bullet plus in a system of that size, but I guess they're pretty big buggers. Great find for $300 mate, nice work! Thanks mate, you have a great weekend too. Nice weekend for working on RC's indoors lol. Cheers mate! 👍

Yeah, Mick, the ecstasy of gold! I think that's a Metallica reference, it don't belong here, ha ha... I'm totally hooked on gold right now also, I got two gold paint jobs coming up, the DT-02 and the third Top Force will also have some gold in it. I got some already mixed, half gold and half silver, was supposed to look a bit like Tamiya's Champagne anodized, but it's more of a pale gold, I used it on the Gatekeeper, I like it! I love those alu wheels on that thing, I checked but there is no link? Mostly I just use black plastic wheels, that look suits me well...

G'day Mads! Haha I get the Metallica reference. I like Metallica to but not so much that one lol. Ah you're going all classy with the gold ay mate, good stuff! The Gatekeeper will look great in that gold colour. The Top Force will look pretty flash in gold too! Me too mate, awesome looking wheels! I just added the link about 30mins ago, maybe it didn't work yet but I will leave the link below. Cheers mate! 👍 Pargustore Tamiya Avante Alloy Wheels: www.ebay.com.au/itm/333629598804

Hi Mick, some great additions to the very capable VQS, the wheels and shocks look really good. Hmmm…the body? Perhaps a copper colour? It would go well with the black and silver ? Anyway, I’m sure whatever colour you decide, I’m sure it’ll turn out really well. Take care and best wishes 😉😊😉
