That was a great lesson. The takeaway for me was that "changing registers" bit, because I've never really got the hang of that, and end up back to noodling mindlessly up the neck.

man I'm glad I found your channel! You have a great way of explaining and breaking the lessons down in good detail. Most other channels leave out a lot of components that link a lot of things together for some reason and leaves me lost ,but this is working out a lot better keep it up and thank you!

Another good lesson as always .. 😎 Best way I get creative with playing solos is “ putting on backtracking of blues , rock, acoustic music or what have you from Spotify with all my distractions turned off including my 📲 & 📺 for many hours!!! I amaze myself what I come up with doing this at times , it’s good guitar key + notation drill.

Great lesson - thanks. But you're throwing me when you call the D a flat 6th. In the key of A it's the 4th, and in the key of D, it's the root, right? Can you help me understand? Thanks again.

Ray my apologies on that! I should have explained that A major and F#m as the same notes! (Because F#m is the relative minor of A Major) So the 5th position A Major scale and the 1st position F#m scale as the same pentatonic scale. So in the F#m the b6 is the note D. Hope that makes since. Sometimes I don't know how much music theory or explanation people want and don't want to bore people too much. 😉
