Panthera’s mission is to ensure a future for wild cats and the vast landscapes on which they depend.
Panthera is the only organization in the world that is devoted exclusively to the conservation of the world’s 40 wild cat species and their ecosystems.
Utilizing the world’s top cat biologists, Panthera implements global strategies for the most imperiled large cats such as: tigers, lions, jaguars, snow leopards, cheetahs, pumas, and leopards.
Panthera’s grants program, the Small Cat Action Fund (SCAF), additionally supports initiatives for many of the smaller wild cat species around the globe.
But, why cats?
The presence of wild cats--our landscape guardians--indicate healthy, intact ecosystems that support all life, including people around the world.
Protecting wild cats is a winning strategy for conserving the ecosystems on which these cats and thousands of plant and animal species depend.
