I assumed that all shoes of the same colour (including left and right) are identical. However it’s not mentioned in the question So if we don’t assume that shoes are identical, in the worst case we can take 16 (Black shoes) + 18 (White shoes) + 10 (red, all left shoes) + 1 (right pair this will match with one of the shoe from the red ones we picked) = 45 So the answer should be (d) 45

Please don't judge a person with one or two question getting wrong, human error is always there, even coaching Institututes gave 20-25 wrong answers.

42:00 - In ques 7, the answer is c ie 8. 1 is at hundreds place and 9 is at digits place. So 9-1 = 8.

Ques no 1... after 34 attempt 2red shoes came up but both are same side ... so 10 more all are left side after 44th left side 45th 1 rigth side up now pair has done

Question 1 is asking for a pair of red shoes "to wear". We can't wear red shoes unless there's both left and right pair. So answer should be 45.

in the first question the answer is 45 because after black and white shoes the next 10 red shoes can be of one leg and 11th will definitely be red pair

Sir the Official Answer key of 1st question is 45 Bcz shoes pair means both (left & Right) so there is chance of worth case increase by 9 soooo Answer is 45

sir didn't understood question no.7 coz the question was whats the difference between the units place and hundreds place and your answer was 0,wherein 199 you subtracted 9-9,i.e subtracted ten's place with unit's place.please someone comment on this and rectify me .

question 1 says red shoes to wear mean both sides should come hence 11 more tries after 34

An unsolicited advice from me to my fellow aspirants: In CSAT paper, attempt the easy Qs first, leave the difficult Qs for later. If solving a Q is going to take more than 5 mins, its not worth solving, skip it.

1st question mein 09:54 answer could be 45 as well...cos after after 18+16 i.e 34 attempts he could be picking all left foot shoes from red shoes and not a pair which makes it 44 and then 45th shoe would be definitely a pair...correct me if I am wrong

Sir Your answer for first question is Wrong. Official answer is 45. bcoz in question it asked for pair. there is posibility that after 34 He/She get only left/Right shoe.

Note that he need to wear.... so even wrost case ki ekk hi per ka jutta / shoe mille ....answr is 45

divij sir first question me upsc ne answer 45 (D)diya hai kyuki 20 red hai means 10 left and 10 right to uske hissab kre to 45 ans aata hai sir.

Bhai ne second question ka explanation JEE advance ke algebra ki trah kar diya btw achha laga mujhe but normal sidha case count ho sakta tha bina equation banaye ya variable mute kiye.

In first question , the answer is 45 because after white and black shoes next 10 pickups could be red shoes of same leg and after answer key that holds true that all red shoes are not same or of same leg.... so 11th pair will definitely be maximum count where we get red shoes of same pair ... 🦶🦶👠👠

Pahle question ka answer 36 nhi 45 hoga. Kyonki question me clearly bola hua hai ki ek red pair of shoes chahiye to wear. Jab pahnega ka to ek left aur ek right chahiye hoga na So we have 20 red shoes jisme 10 left foot ke hain aur 10 right foot ke So worst case scenario ye hoga ki pahle 34 shoes black aur white ke nikal Jaye fir 10 shoes ya to left waale nikal Jaye ya right waale aur fir ek shoe left ka ya right ka nikal aaye So the answer will be 34+10+1= 45

although i cleared csat last year, i realise now how difficult the paper was.

I think ques no 7 the answer should be 8(optC)

Hello sir, please check q no 4 and 49 in CSAT series A. In 4 is debatable as it is not mentioned that they have equal no of left and right shoes, so answer can come b,c or d. And in q 49, answer should be b but in answer key it is a.

Here the fine point is.....a pair of shoes includes a left leg shoe and a right leg shoes.... 10 pairs red shoes and 9 pairs whites shoes and 8 pairs black shies can be segregated as... 10 left leg shoes 9 left and 9 right whites shoes 8 left and 8 right black shoes means 10+9+9+8+8=44th attempts the condition given in question is not satisfied......now 45th attempt one will pick up right leg red shoe.... So total attempts will be 45.. The same is endorsed by the UPSC in their official answer key... Gurujee has missed this fine point. Anyways, sir ur efforts are splendid...
