Gav, my man. The original release of this song was my absolute-god-damn-bloody-phenomenal favourite song of all of your stuff i've ever listened to (i own the first 6 albums and have listened to most stuff since) but... you just went and made it even better. I loved this song when you first released it, and you've done it so much justice with the remaster. I love the way the synth gets slightly harsher for the sting just before 'It's in the spaces behind', at about 2:40; it gives that whole part of the song a little shot of urgency and panic just before the whispering sets in. For some reason, that moment reminds me really strongly of DNA, your Prometheus song from way back when, so that and this are definitely in my rotation for a while.

Pairing with the new footage from the seasons released after the original mix of the song really shows how well you nailed the themes and motifs of the series. The "It's in your sight when you're blind" over footage of Max was just dirty though.

I am in serious awe that somehow the lyrics written about Season 1 describe Season 4 so perfectly! In fact, some elements in the verses are applicable to both El's and Vecna's stories - not to mention the pre-chorus and chorus, which at least to me are even better as references to Vecna that Demogorgon/Mind Flayer. If I didn't know better, I'd say that you and Duffer brothers shared notes at some point between the premiere of old song and the beginning of S4 production!

The original was a classic, I can't tell you how many times I listened to it. I love how this one builds on everything that was great about the original, but really makes the different tones stand out more to give it a slightly darker, more unnerving vibe. It definitely fits the theme of show and the matching of the lyrics to the different scenes was incredible.

Years ago, when this song first released, I commented that I haven't seen the show yet and this song provided sufficient reason to do so. Was one of the top comments at the time. I uh... I never followed through on that statement. Okay, so THIS time the song has pushed me to watch the show for sure!

Thanks! The changes are quite subtle as a remaster is different to a remake. None of the individual elements were touched, Frank just applied a layer of polish over the entire mix. He made the frequency spectrum more balanced which helped some of the buried details to stand out a little more, like the high hats and the air in my voice. Also tweaked the bass & high end frequencies to make the song feel a little bit more shiney overall, as well as some dynamic processing & compression to the make the rhythm more groovy!
