I am confused about choosing Either Alluminium or UPVC Windows for my New Home. This video clears all my Doubts. Thank you So Much.

I cannot agree if we compare UPVC to Alum windows. Alum windows can reach very low U -value (high passive) against heat loss and good acoustics performance. All frames needs the right glazing to work as a systems. In terms of colors, while alum needs coating, uPVC also needs a color process in its production stage. The difference is uPVC is color coated, while Allum arrives in mill finish, but then you get to choose the colors you like to your space's design. There is more flexibility in this sense. There are cheap and poor quality coating so you need to be sure your suppliers gives you quality coating. In terms of noise from operation, this is not true. If the windows are well fabricated and installed with the suitable fittings, they operate noiseless. As for condensation, while this will happen in seasonal countries, please be note alum alloy 6063 (common for window/door use) has good anti corrosion properties. condensation may occur in windows in time when moisture sips into the space in between glass which should be another topic. there are some truth in this video but it does not do justice to Alum windows when the technology had improved against heat loss/gain, noise insulation and other performance.

@9:30, can you please confirm that uPVC is cheaper than aluminum. Seems the reverse in my country in Philippines where uPVC is expensive than aluminum.

Upvc is costlier than Aluminum as mentioned wrongly by you. Upvc cost from 450 per Sw ft to 1000 psf in lucknow.

This is a good research on window types. Thankyou for putting your efforts in creating and sharing this valuable information. I was desperately looking for this info 3 yrs back during my 🏠 construction. I ended up buying wooden windows as I was suggested to use that because of security reasons. I was told that wooden windows are strong enough to break and get into the 🏠 compared to UPVC or aluminium. Also, the later two are good for apartments as we don't need that much security compared to independant 🏠. But, my close relatives are constructing 🏠 now, so I'm sharing this with them. Hope of would be useful for them. Please keep posting such useful info related to house construction or any other technologies.
