Wrong info: Upwork now charges 5% from client as well, gone are the days when it was free. Also, fiverr updated it's fee: Now it's $2+5% of order amount if order less than $50. And for more than $50, it's 5%

Thank you for the updated info. I will pin this comment for others as well. By this updated info, Upwork still remains less expensive due to it’s tiered commission system for freelancers so the score shouldn’t be effected as of July 2022.

I work on Fiverr, but i have also started Working on Upwork for gew projects and it is way better than Fiverr. Because fiverr ir rude towards Sellers, they'll never care sellers, if any user gets negative rating then platform will never bring customers to Sellers. But on Upwork review doesn't matter too much.

In my experience, Whenever I contacted Fiverr, they responded positively. FOR EXAMPLE, once I wanted to cancel a buyer's order related to alcohol, I contacted Fiverr. I told them, "I am uncomfortable working on this project due to religious reasons" they canceled the orders without affecting the completion rate.

For a beginner, fiverr surely feels suitable but it doesn't seem suitable if you wanna grow as there's a chance that you'll stop recieving clients at a certain point because your profile or gig would be slated to the end. You'll then have to shift to upwork which means that you juat started and it'll feel difficult to get clients.

14:40 But in hourly job system, there is a problem, For example, I charge 100$ for a Fixed price Job that I complete in 2 hours so I'll get 100$ but same job if I'm working on hourly bases, lets say My rate is 20$/hour then I'll get 40$ instead of 100$... This really matters when you yourself don't know how much time it will be required to complete. Because sometimes you may take a shortcut and complete the job in lesser time (in this scenario, a Fixed price job will benefit you instead of hourly). I hope I cleared my point here . Thanks!

That’s a good point and is exactly why I almost never do hourly jobs. But it’s a matter of personal preference and it’s always good to have the option of hourly contracts. If you don’t want hourly contracts, just discuss with your clients that you’d like a fixed price. I’ve shifted many hourly job posts to fixed price this way

I like fiverr because it really promote his new freelancers, i literally sent purposals on Upwork for a year and nothing earned, but when i started working on fiverrr i got project within one month of staying full time online...

Its opposite in my case, I did seo of my gigs and now getting orders on fiverr, maybe for Upwork you need to improve your Cover letter writing skills.

Smart card pe account nhi khulta. Date of birth verify hoti hai at least 18 years of age honi chahiye according to the rules

That’s $500 for every contract…not your account. So if you start a contract, you will be charged 20% for the first $500 of that contract and it drops down as the contract proceeds PS they are for eyesight

I joined Upwork and posted proposals but they just don't reply to any....it's intimidating to be honest ....how am I gonna start this journey when no one's gonna accept any of them...any solutions?
