In this tragic display of cinema, a man goes on about his day, in his own paradise, oblivious to what will be revealed to him next. He is shown to be occupied on his cellular device, most presumably sending electronic messages to a friend, partner or loved one, but it is never revealed to our perspective, the viewer. As the suspension builds up, the viewer's adrenaline builds as well. Two men approach the charismatic man, in red and blue, armed with the deadly weapon of shock and distraught. “Uh..” the man in red stuttered, with the knowledge of what cruel details he and his friend in blue are yet to share. The once charismatic and now discombobulated man was caught off guard. He pays all attention to the two men, putting away his cellular device in his pocket. “Hey, spoiler alert.” The man in blue finished his sentence. “You’re black.” The once charismatic, then discombobulated and now shocked man’s world as he knew it shattered, like the glass of a window, smashed by a baseball by some prissy, irresponsible children. He could barely utter a word. “What?” His world paused, the pieces of his word stopping mid-air. The two men could barely face him, as they stood in solitude. All faded to black. The man fell to his knees, arms weak, mother’s spaghetti. In a state of panic, pure agony, he screamed. He screamed up to God, if there were any god, anywhere in the skies. “No!” he cried. He prolonged his scream for what would’ve felt like hours in the perspective of the two men, as he smashed the ground beneath him, in a fit of anger and denial, leaving scars on his fists. He could barely register the pain in his hands, as the pain was incomparable to the knowledge that the two men received him. In a flash, the man has realized that his life, well over 20 to 30 years, that his whole life he lived a lie. How naive could I be, he thought. His hands were drenched in his blood, and the men walked away, unable to bear the sight of this poor, poor man. His mother, his father, all those he trusted, loyal, by his side. Were they all just a lie?
Darious Quantilling’Min III, the once charismatic man was found dead six days after this tragic incident. Forensic scientists observed that it was a suicide by firearm that caused his death, determining that Quantilling’Min was rendered unable to live that life, that lie, not when such news is revealed to you. His loved once now grief his death, claiming that they wished they revealed the truth sooner. His wife and two of his children now live a state away from the where the incident began, ashamed of not telling Quantilling’Min III about the truth.
