If he wanted to own rights to the song, he should have paid the music producer. Once someone has produced something, you can legally own rights to that thing if you paid for it, or have a legally binding contract that states the property is yours, else nothing goes to you. If you like sing for forty days and forty nights, if you no pay, the song no be your own. That’s how it works in business
