I find these lessons really interesting because I've only ever learned fos'ha. I was just wondering, when you say esstaz is teacher, do you use that as well as mudarris or is it only esstaz that's used in the levant?
@SaifiArabic9 жыл бұрын
Michael Gasparutti We do use esstaz more than modarres. The reason is more linked to an old culture in the area of Levant, which when in the old time an educated person or a teacher used to be called esstaz which literally means Mister, and it become a common word to link to teacher. This shows you the difference between Fusha and Amiyeh, that the spoken is straight linked to the culture, whether in fusha is straight to the root of the word (since you know Fusha). So you can used both but more common esstaz. Hopefully we helped you with your question.

What is the meaning of the number in the pronunciation, 2, 3, 7 etc. this is confusing.
@SaifiArabic9 жыл бұрын
357sps hi, the numbers represent arabic sounds that cannot be reproduced using the latin alphabet. they are commonly used by arabs themselves when writing on the internet en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Arabic_chat_alphabet

Please don't use number in the pronunciation. What do you mean chatting ? Please larger,I can not see well
@SaifiArabic10 жыл бұрын
The Chatting Alphabet is used by Arabs in order to best represent Arabic pronunciation using the Latin keyboard, which is why we use it to teach. Here's a link that explains the alphabet: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Arabic_chat_alphabet
