I have always looked at block numbers, once you find ground zero, (block 0 North/south/ block 0 east/ west) then everything falls into place, also knowing the direction of streets vs avenues helps a lot. There is a wealth of information in the "Legend" on maps, And can't forget the Ham operator's, those folks may be the only form of communication in the event of a Natural disaster, Civil unrest...etc. Great video Stokerman.👍 P.S. Awesome. I've made up a BO map for my city but haven't noted resources. I really want to run drills to BOL's and note resources along the way and possible problems and ways around them. That's best done with a partner to help with navigation and logging. This is the kind of stuff that could save your ass or at least make life easier.

Excellent content again. One resource, though originally intended to humorous, is a website www.judgementalmaps.com (link doesn't work, google direct)These are online city maps that highlight different parts of the areas, especially those which are best avoided. I've seen three for my area in SE Louisiana and Mississippi, and though quite humorous, are actually quite accurate in the descriptions of certain areas. They don't have these for every area in the U.S. but they could be useful if you find yourself enroute to a city or an area you are not familiar with. A wrong turn at the wrong time can be life changing. There's one for Seattle. I haven't been there since '93 and can't comment, but you might be in a position to evaluate it's accuracy of the descriptions... As for the locations of Amateur radio and GMRS repeaters, there are numerous websites that give the frequencies, locations, and range of these repeaters. Use of amateur repeaters requires an FCC license that you must test for. GMRS (general mobile radio service) also "requires" an FCC license, but no exam. It's like $70 for ten years and your entire family is able to operate off of the same license. Another website that might be of interest is "radio reference . com" which gives the frequencies of police (not all are available, some are encrypted), fire, ems, coast guard, amateur radio, etc across the entire U.S. and you can actually listen to the various departments on your pc or android...
