Wild Camping videos: for sure! I find no magic in Stealth Camps: I enjoy following you as you try different places and come to understand different equipment. My 'Tingle' comes from: WILL he be dry? WILL the pad and bag give a comfortable sleep? It doesn't come from: WILL he be rousted out in the late evening?

Back in the 70s when we'd camp out in the local fields none of us had any form of camping mat, just didn't know about them and allways look back and think how much suffering we went through because of lack of knowledge.

Back in the early 90's in army cadets I surprised the reserves by folding a wool blanket a few times before laying on top and covering myself with a single layer over my legs and body, warm until 2am watch

Back in the early eighties we used to camp at motorbike rallies. Cheapest supermarket tent and sleeping bag we could find and nothing else, in case they got trashed by our, err high jinx, shall we say. Half the time we were so pi**ed we never made it back to the tent anyway. 😄 Once woke up in November with three sleeping bags, all soaked through with 3” of water in the tent. The other two guys I was sharing the tent with had gone for jog to warm up. Then we had to ride 80 miles home soaked, in November. All in the name of fun. 😂

Wherever I go I carry 3/4 black bin bags. There is no bulk and weigh next to nothing. They are used for rubbish, storage, water collection, water proofing, rain cover. Once camped last week of December and thought it’d be a good idea to put sleeping bag inside an emergency survival bag. With zero breathability I woke in the middle of the night soaking wet and freezing cold. Spent most of next day in laundrette in middle of Ambleside washing and drying sleeping bag. Learned that lesson though!

1st, 2nd and 3rd comment! Can’t believe it! Years ago, mid 1980s, I went hitch hiking to Greece from the UK, mostly ate simple food like bread and cheese, tomatoes etc.On the rare occasion I ate a dehydrated camping meal (high in calories) I sweated cobs at night, never slept well, I reckon it was a tsunami of energy that my body wasn’t used to.

Fold the bag to fit the container and put it in there and bring to the boil, as the water heats up and begins to boil it makes a better and much hotter meal. Use you water proofs as a ground mat. I carry a large ortlieb waterproof canoe bag for such emergencies, plus it keeps your kit dry there are loads things you can use them for.

Great video again, I forgot to take my water one night had a litre bottle and left it in the mrs car when she dropped me off 😂 had to manage with a little bit of leftover from a sports bottle I had spare and some stream water the next morning out my filter bottle. One thing that might help is when you light your stove try taking the pot off before lighting it then screwing it on afterwards as sometimes gas can build up in the space between and when you light it it doesn’t half shoot out as I noticed in your one then, keep up the great work mate and I’m gonna look into that sleeping bag liner they look boss them ⛺️

A good way of never forgetting your ground Matt is to roll it up wider and place it vertically into your pack to form the shape rigidity of pack rucsac ok then stuff yr kit in middle of it the foam type protect anything if you trip fall in day and because the Matt is semibrugid it keep s pack in shape I always leave mine in my pack then just carry the kit I carry but cuz the Matt forms the shape of pack you never ever forget it only time you take it out is to use it or wash or proof your rucsac

Get in as close as you can to those bushes with the branches hang down. Again you need red filter on your torch (sweet wrapper will do!). Remember that food smells will attract dogs.

nobody's perfect, we're all only human, a few months ago a friend brought a tarp that was too short to hang over a hammock but I let her use my DD 4x4 and I used a different tarp over my hammock, worked out well in the end

You can insulate yourself from the cold ground using thin branches and leaves, ( pine branches and needles work well ) you just need to have air between you and the ground, the more the better.

I've camped countless times with no air mattress or camping pad underneath me. Go cut some pine boughs and put them under your sleeping bag. Make the boughs about a foot Thick off the ground. Cut each bough about a foot long too with no obvious sticky points or sharp points from the pine bough branches. This ensures you won't puncture your bivvy bag with sharp points of pine boughs. You'll be fine man!! We never had camping pads or anything underneath us when me and my crew were in Boy Scouts. It's only one night. You'll be fine.

I’ve forgot loads of bits and pieces over the years! It really pisses me off too,I usually smash stuff up to release the frustration! Fair play in eating that food mate,I don’t think I’ve ever seen anyone pick up food with a spoon the turn it upside down before putting it in their mouth! That must take some practice! Haha. With cam nets add local foliage that matches the background, and avoid any straight edges, break those up with grass or bits of bush, branches anything. Also check the net, some have different colours from side to side to blend better with different enviroments.
