Finally someone who understands WEIGHT is the enemy!! I m turning youtube upside down for videos to save van's weight and your was in great help - my van will have now ZERO drawers :))

Can't image why I've not stumbled on your excellent content before now.... I'm always staggered by the amount of builds that treat vans as a house build. Mental. If it was a tiny home, fair enough.... But I've seen rigs with ceramic tiled bathrooms 🙄. Annnd, just because the drawer runner can take up to 100kg, it shouldn't be a target weight. All those fixtures are designed for domestic, static use, not for furniture being subjected to a constant earthquake.

if you had 220kg of multi finish in the back of your van you would certainly know about it. Thats a hefty weight for sure. That made me laugh "its got to happen" get rid of the kids and have fun. I get you on that one.

Hey mate, very interesting video about reducing weight. Just a thought, instead of using the 12mm plywood with your Lagun, what if you used the 3mm but with a narrow metal plate backing attached to the van metal which in turn is attached to the back of the 3mm ply? Pre-drill for the Lagun, then mount it. 220kg weight savings is quite significant. That's two large adults in weight! Great video!!

Pretty radical compared with many home builds but entirely logical. Easy to keep this going too with the cabinetry by adding structural supports at key points (thin strips of thick quality ply? or 15x15 battening?). Correx panelling to the back of units - kitchen, wall units etc. Great stuff. Looking forward to seeing more on your channel.

Great video. Thanks. Just found out my Crafter is over by about 250kg 😭 Can you tell me more about the lithium battery please? I have the pine panelled roof too. Think I will be changing it for bamboo too.
