Word on the street is there’s a new breed of trains out in the jungle of New York. Naturally being the channel that we are, it’s only right to check it out. So join me on this quest to find an R211 subway train in the bush of New York City. Let’s explore all the cool features of the R211 car.

I like the long open trains, but I worry if a fire starts at one end it will spread to the whole train. Or a mugger can do the whole train and not just one car.

I’ve been on the R211 a few times now and i love them. They’re very fast, roomy and bright. I can’t wait to see more of them hit “the jungles” of NYC! You made another great and fun video with this one!

I recently moved to NYC and commute via the A/C trains , though I mostly bike. It took me a month and a half, but I finally got the new trains both ways of the commute! It's funny and sad that you can either catch one of these new trains or a train straight out of the 70s

I laughed so hard of you channeling Steve Irwin on finding the R211s on the Subway. You should've been there when they were first coming out. It was wild then. But in the end, your message in shaping how people live to better the environment and the planet is the most important. I've personally operated on the R211s and they're a great train to operated!!

Several weeks ago I waited at the 14th St station in search of the R211. There was a younger boy there with (probably) his mother who didn't board any of the local or express trains for 30 minutes. So I went over and talked to them. They were trying to find the elusive R211. Unfortunately, they needed to be somewhere, so they gave up and boarded an older train. I did find one a few minutes later.

I was in NYC last week and got to ride on an ancient R46 train. It did have air conditioning but did not have recorded train stop announcements. It was like "This wah wah 1 tray wah wah wah wah wah wah wah -sing dohs!" I laughed as this was a part of my past!

Great video! I am hoping to get to NYC sometime this fall! I always come in by Amtrak at Moynihan/Penn Station, so the A train is a regular for me when I'm in town. Hope to get to ride an R-211 soon! Keep up the great content!

It took you this long to hunt down the r211 hi tech car set. A lot of rail fans such as myself have hunting and these trains since March when the first set roll out for a monthly trial test, now a lot of us just these trains like a herd of buffalos on a monthly basis since they roll out two sets per month for the enjoyment and continue to do so until all the r211s are active and put into service

I caught an R211 running a few times. Yesterday, I caught an R211A 2nd Set A train on Canal Street from the E train then I got to the R211A and ride it to West 4 Street.

I was in NYC this weekend and somehow got lucky twice! The first time I was explicitly looking for one and expected to have to wait, but got lucky at W 4th St and caught it up to Inwood, and then also got one unintentionally the next day!

The R211s are planned to replace the R46s on the A and C, along with the R68s and R68As on the B and D, with all of their respective trains sent to Coney Island Yard. Also an R211T (open gangway) is currently in testing along Sea Beach (N line). According to sources, they will be assigned to Queens Blvd on the E,F and R.

Meanwhile I used Reddit and waited an hour at Jay St-MetroTech lol. And that was June 15th - right after having ridden a vintage train on the F line 😅 and back when there was only one set (I'm gonna try again though. I want that new train smell; that first train had already been testing for a year or so. And I want to combine it with a ride on one of the new buses in Queens; double dose of new [transit vehicle] smell!)

6:57 I knew that the order has trains with open gangways and another type with no gangways, I'm surprised it was of the same family, just a different model.
