Great review as always. One point that’s really cool about the nitecore lights is that if plugged into a power source (power bank) the light will keep running until the power bank runs out. It’s the reason that they are my favorites.

Yeah that is a really nice feature, thank you for mentioning it. I've got the NB10000 power bank from Nitecore which I'm really pleased with which would complement the keychain lights well. I be the runtime with the Tini 2 attached to the power bank on moonlight mode would be incredible.

The RovyVon type S11 clones do this also. On a 20K power bank, 5 hours on high used 2% of the power bank.

Awesome. I love these kinds of lights. My favorite is a nitecore tiki. Uv and high cri aux lights along with a main led light.

The Frog has a much lower (3 choices) moonlight setting (hold the ON button, release when the LED lights). It and the Rovyvon A3x (all aluminum) are my favs - both with the High-CRI emitters.

Really great job on this comparison. So many options for a good quality keychain light and I am a firm believer everyone should have a couple on hand. I only have the Olight one but I would jump on one of those Rovy Vons if I needed one.

I love my olight 1r2 eos. I like how it's rechargeable and if need be you can run 5 lumens for 6 hours. In complete darkness you really get a significant amount of light from it. It's really durable and compact. Probably one of the best edc keychain options out there in my opinion. I want to upgrade to the pro soon.

Very recently started EDCing the Fenix E03R. This is a light that always seems to look bigger in pics. and videos than it is in real life. I love it.

For me fenix e03r is the best Good runtime good light output and have red light Thats all what you need for a Keychain light i use that as a reading lamp attached to a cord on my bagpack strap it stays on my chest and its super handy in hiking and map reading also good for adventure motorbiking at night times for quick use to look around your bike in your bags and to look at your legs

Great comparison, nice to see all those options side by side in one video. I think I like the Rovyvon A8XU out of that group for keychain duty. Simply for the 2.38" small size while still having a larger 330mah battery for its size with decent run time and all the extra side lights with simple UI. I ordered a Fenix HM50R V2.0 headlamp recently and I intend to put a key ring on the pocket clip and try it out on my keychain! If that works out it will be the most capability I've ever had on my keychain. If that does not work I will stick to Rovyvon :)

@@UrbanSurvivor It worked out really good! I added a ring and clasp to the existing hole in the pocket clip, it's not much more to carry on a key chain than a AAA flashlight. It is heavier and more bulky but as long as you don't have a lot on the key chain already I think its good for me. One of the pics is a size comparison starting from left , TANK007 E15 Ai, AA battery, RovyVon A5X, Fenix HM50R V2.0, Coast HP1, Sofrin SC31Pro, Wurkkos FC11. I emailed it by Wetransfer to you.

The T4K missed a huge opportunity to be an amazing torch. The 4000 lum turbo steps back to 200 at around 8 secs. If you can’t maintain 4k lumens, no problem, but at least put in a 1000 or 2000 lumen step between 200 and 4000 lumens. You are better off with TUP for true permanent 1000 lumens. T4K needs update to fix this issue.

there is no way the TUP will give you constant 1000lm, it will step down in only 30sec to 200lm and maintain that lumens for 3hours... aniway, the right comparison to T4K would be Imalent LD70 that is way better.

I've tried the frog, just too short on runtimes and gets way to hot with an 10440. I've also tried tiny 2 with is a pretty nice little light and also the olight is nice for just a Keychain light. But my fav is the rovyvon E3 angel eyes, I got the orange with 2 different emitters ( high cri and cool white) . It's just so versatile and still really compact. I'm actually thinking about picking up the pro model. Great comparison!!

My personal favorite is a modified (ugh.... all glued together its a pain DONT TRY IT!) DQG Tiny III 18650 after the driver died. Its runtime was stock INCREDIBLE (low output, efficient driver, big battery,...), since its just slighly bigger than a 18650 battery its a nice EDC, 90%+ of the weight AND size comes from the battery alone. Needed stock despite heavy usage at 100-200 Lumens around once a month about 500mA charge! As i built my own driver and copper cooling solution around the original casing, i increased the output a lot (as much its thermal possible)... slightly more weight due copper parts but probably the BEST compact flashlight ever, at least i havent seen anything smaller with a 3600mAh capacity yet, its just a super compact LONG RUNNER i barely recharge. And for style (the DQG Tiny III is looking ugly and "poor man" like...) i have a modified, white Led Lenser F1 for 16340 Li Ions/LiFePo4 with a maximum driven Nichia 219C on a "big" milled copper core. Absolutely night and day these 2 lamps, the modded F1 is brighter than the modded DQG, but only for like 1-2 minutes since the 550mAh 16340 batteries drain very fast with much power on a high CRI LED, only usable for short trips, as emergency light or for very dimmed longer usage. Since the modded F1 is very "limited" with its small 16340 battery, its sadly more a "styler" item than a useful pocket light.... and as i did it for a while... going out with the F1 and 3 additional batteries... its not really user friendly!

Thanks for the video. Great info. Currently looking for something to throw on the keychain for my Slingshot so I can see the key switch. Also I. Case I drop something in the floorboard etc. what would you recommend. Doesn’t have to be the latest and greatest. But will be in the elements.

I would go with the olight i1r2 pro in that case... Its very durable and weather resistant and sometimes during olights flash sale they practically give them away. Its great for close up use and is brighter than portrayed by my camera.

Yeah I actually compared it to a bunch of 18350/ 16340 lights in the video kzfaq.info/get/bejne/f76gZ5almdO1dmQ.html My preference is the armytek prime C1 due to the tint and long moonlight runtimes but the S3 is definitely a contender. I was suprised how much I liked the RovyVon E3 as well!

I own the E4K, its a great powerfull Flashlight with a very good Runtime. The only downgrade for me is that you cant lock it, should be Standard for such powerfull Flashlights. For EDC i like it a bit smaller, the Imalent LD70 is my choise for that.

I absolutely miss the Nitecore TUP - I still have TUBEs and my TIP CRI (1st gen TIPs...) died recently. I replaced my TIP with a TUP and WOW, only the screen and voltage monitoring is awesome, especially since i love to keep my Li Ion/LiPo batteries manually at a good voltage range and avoid deep discharges as well as a full charge. I really thought about the T4K - but, compared to the TUP, it has: - less range without turbo - less runtime (200mAh less in the battery, thats 20%!) - 4000lm is barely usable, the 1000 Lumen setting on the TUP is so much more userfriendly and "long" usable - size.... the T4K is bigger (despite the smaller battery...) - quality.... i heard and read a lot about T4Ks falling apart for NO REASON! Not so with the TUP. - price.... why i should get a 100$ T4K when a 50-60$ TUP is more reliable in any concern? Also, i found a very cheap priced TUP 2nd hand... no way i would pay 100$ for a T4K!

Nice Comoarison. But for me, these Flashlights are all to big for a Keychain and put it in my Pocket, may the Roryvon would be ok. ATM i like the Nightcore Tiki, very small and enough Power for most of the Time.

Yeah i dont think you can really make a wrong choice between those lights.. they are both good options. The tini 2 has been out for a while so we know its pretty reliable. Havent heard much else about the E3 but so far mine is holding up well and I really like the warm color temp but the warm/ cool combo is really nice too. Let me know which way you end up going!

@@danielashby1913 Unfortunately I have not. The pros and cons of both are so balanced that it might depend on your specific needs. The e3 is more water proof but the tini is more keychain friendly. On top of that, Rovyvon came out with new models of the e3. A clear plastic one that glows like the A5x and a titanium e4 model. I might end up with both eventually starting with the e3 as a backup flashlight, I like being able to both recharge and replace the battery in a pinch. If you decide before me let me know what you choose.

@@powerart1 actually I did decide! I went with the Nightcore tini 2. I really like the rovy von but 3 things swayed me: -I like that you can see how much time you have left on the battery. Even though capacity isn't as much. -I like that you can get a stiff USBC and use it as a desk light and that it will run while connected to power. -while I really like the dual power source idea I'm worried about battery leakge. I live in a really hot climate and I've had bad luck with leaky batteries even from name brands. If for whatever reason I don't like it maybe there will be a rovy von in the future. But hopefully I made the right choice.

Why not use the Olight iXV, which is an update to the i1R2..? It's more in the league of the other lights...? A few recent reviews have surprisingly "forgotten" this light.

@@UrbanSurvivor Forgot to mention excellent review! I did learn the iXV & i1R2pro a nearly identical spec wise. I wonder why they make both? They have a Damascus Ti iXV for $130 !!! That's a $110 premium for a light with a non-replaceable battery.

Yea theres a huge hype surrounding the damascus ti at the moment... for me I typically avoid premium finishes except copper on occasion. The added price isnt worth it for me and Id rather have more lights lol

One thing I've learned is that if it has a pushbutton such that it can turn on in my pocket it's not a good keychain light. I've had two nightcore tubes and a couple Nightcore Tini 2 lights and they were usually dead. I can't count how many times I found them on in my pocket. From now on I'm going back to my far more reliable light which I had previously carried for years before deciding to try something new: the Photon Microlight. It never failed me once and lasts forever. It is also smaller and more convenient on a keychain than any of these. It also does not have any "modes". I don't want any modes. I just want reliable light! If I need anything more sophisticated I'll use my simple little keychain light to find a bigger more complicated light.

IDK about the tubes, but the TINI 2 has a lockout feature that keeps it from turning on in your pocket. Also it has a memory so you can set it to your favorite or most frequently used brightness level. This effectively gives you on/off capability and you don't have to mess with other modes if you don't want to.

Im not aware of any sofirn lights that would fit into this category... I do really like the sp10 pro which is a AA/14500 light though if you dont mind stepping up to something a bit larger. Compared it with some other lights with the same battery type here kzfaq.info/get/bejne/gqxgl82htMm-hmw.html

wow that frog is interesting esp with that awesome sst-20 attached to it... I have a wuben pen that has a light on top that takes 10180's and that is one serious little battery its saved my ass before too. But that combined with high cri sounds amazing.

Yeah for the size its really impressive how much light the frog puts out! Definitely worth getting an extended and running a 10440 if you can!

its the high intensity spot in the center of the beam. its more pronounced in some lights than others. The Lumintop gt nano has the most intense hot spot of the lights here.

Nitecore має противне зелене холодне світло, чим відлякує. Rovyvon або lumintop мені подобаються більше.

Looks like a great light, will have to check that one out. Eventually i will get around to another aaa/10440 comparison and will make sure to include that one.

Your suggestion is incomplete also it doesn't have every single keychain light on the market therefore your comment is invalid entirely.
