That's a german place and the text with Betriebsstunden is German too. I'm from germany, that's how I know it. This place isn't abandoned at all, lol. This guy is either trespassing, or he simply has a permit to film. Because the power is running everywhere, you know it's in use, otherwise nobody would be wasting that much electricety. That's why actual abandoned places are being visited with flashlights, not like this guy. Nobody is destroying or stealung anything there, it's just, that the company is either selling machine parts, or using them in a different place. It honestly just looks like he just shouldn't be there. But I imagine, some germans are nice enough to allow you to record, if youo simply say, that you're interested in their facilities history.

Visiting churches, however grand, always leaves me cold and unmoved, but these cathedrals of engineering are truly awesome. The way you film these visits, whispering as you walk adds to the fantastic spooky ambiance as you creep through the shadows, and whenever you stop to take a close-up of some equipment I can tell you share my sense of awe at the genius of mankind in creating these leviathans. The humming transformers in your 2013 footage just add to the feeling that you’re walking inside a living, breathing, sleeping beast. Fantastic!

I had known the dimensions but from that pictures you couldn't get a real clue how big its really is. Your video makes a much better job. This turbine hall is actually the second longest in Germany only the former turbine hall of the nuclear plant in Lubmin is with 1km longer. But the hall there in now empty and divided by walls into smaller halls.

A few years ago i worked for a rope access company inside such power plants. we had to secure the guys cleaning the pipes inside the boiler room which was at appr. 160m height. we went into this dark steamy stinky hole which was blasted by high pressure water before to clean of all that carbon from the burning process to rise efficiency again ( well efficiency is a big word for such archaic technology such as burning coal to generate steam to generate eletricity ) , walking on those swinging pipes knowing that below us was a 160m deep dark hole. crazy feeling with all those people yelling at each other in languages i never heard before. of course we walked through nearly the whole complex such as the places you showed in this video. every time amazing how lost and tiny one feels inside such huge, dark, dirty and dangerous environments. attracting and disturbing at the same time. felt good to quit this dirty job eventhough we had good times there with all the guys working, sleeping, eating together for weeks. feel a bit sad for those who have to do that dirty shit for their whole life...

This place is amazing. Please, when you go through a place such as this it would be terrific if you would dwell on nameplates so we could read things like physical details of the equipment. How many megawatts were the generators? What were the voltages of them? A few people, such as myself, worked in jobs like this and it's very interesting. All of the power this place produced had to be replaced by some other facility and it would be interesting to know the total megawatt capacity of this facility. I explored a lot of places myself and it was imperitive that we avoid walking on metal grating unless there was no other way and then it had to be done very slowly to minimize sounds. Also, anyone below could see movement easily. I do feel good that you speak so softly as it's also important not to cause echos or a sound disturbance in the background sounds if there are any. I often used a hearing enhancement device in one ear at differnt times to listen for things my hearing couldn't pick up. Usually the onlly thing I heard was my breathing or heartbeat, but sometimes it would detect sounds that weren't normal background sounds and indicated people present at a distance. Sometimes it was just aother explorer. We also took considerable time observing at a distance before entry using binoculars and a parabolic listening device.

Thanks for your comment Jim! In which country did you work in power stations? This was another episode than usual, normally I film the plates etc. like in this episode: kzfaq.info/get/bejne/rraahMKBtKjLnYU.html

@@ExploringtheUnbeatenPath I worked in the U.S. AR a hydro facility. We have several coal fired plants and now many CTGs as well as a large nuke. Some of the places I explored were the tunnels under St. Paul, MN as well as some active locations. The Wrigley's gum factory in Chicago was great and also the huge raw chocolate processing plant near there. Underground storage facilities under Kansas City, MO as well as under parts of Quincy, IL. A great explore was a government contractor site that refurbishes military vehicles. I'm excited to follow the next new location with your videos. Thank you for your reply.

Another outstanding job Robert. I know they are fans but if you take a drink for just the silly questions you get really drunk! Double shot if they ask you about the 'B' team.

Why don't they put in new turbines and reuse building? My only question is the new equipment must be running before the old can be turned off.
