Exploring Abandoned Danger House in the snow...
Built in the mid to late 1800s, this abandoned farm house sits vacant, rotting away on 200 acres of land. The house has been vacant for over 10 years. You can see the amount of decay this once beautiful house is going through. I called it the danger house because it is about to fall in on itself. There are many holes in the floor and roof. The outside elements have caused a lot of damaged to the interior wood. This house is close to a major roadway which is supposed to be expanded many years ago. Not sure if this was the cause for it being vacated, but it sure is sad to see any type of home ends its life like this. Hope you enjoy.

I agree, take the pictures while the house is still standing who knows how many more winters it has left. I'm surprised there wasn't more structural collapses on outside walls. I imagine this place was part of a large farm back in the day this farmer and his family must have been very well to afford a house like this. I love the detail in the staircase with the small bay window that's something you definitely don't see very often nowadays.

You are so right, Steve. This house can't stay up much longer. I noticed how the walls were all the same but I can't figure out if they had all been stripped of wallpaper or maybe had all been painted the same color---or something else. Whatever the reason the white walls and dark woodwork go well with the snow and trees outside. This was once a fine house.

Steve: Excellent work! I think this house is beyond restoration, but your video gave an excellent impression of what it was like in its heyday. It is really sad that in the US we give no value to places like that. The house where I was born in Italy is attested in a document of the year 611 AD where it is explained it has been extant since 369 BC. It was is poor condition in 1630 and was reconstructed and extensively added on from 1644 to 1655. Then the attic was transformed into living spaces in 1701. It is still there. That is one of the reasons I feel sad when I see these wonderful American houses in such sad state of repair. And I really thank you for bringing these places to us before they disappear altogether.

Wow that house you describe is old and with paper work. Was it a road tavern/inn? A lot of them survive in Italy because they have importance to local people. Inns and tavern have been meeting places from the Roman times as well as taxation centers. The oldest building I worked on was 1562 with paperwork and now sits restored in the Gutach open air museum in Germany and is called" granny's house"

It was never an inn. Actually there are two houses. The one where I was born and another one not far, where I lived for many years. The paperwork in both houses attest repairs and expansions. One at the Piazza Navona and the other with a façade on Via del Corso.

I would have got a long stick and duct tape the camera on the end of it lol. That house looks like it will collapse towards the front with the next high wind. Great look at the built in wall furniture construction of the 1820-1880's period. The amazing thing is that the bay type window have stood up to the test of time. Those were big pocket doors at one time in the house showing this was a very upscale house. Very good wood was used for the flooring as well, seems oak. Glad you didn't go to the 3rd floor attic. The hole in the floor is one thing, but that isn't structural, the floor joists were in bad shape and the main beams that ran from the front door to the back were showing slump. Bad sign and I would tear this down so nobody gets hurt, it is very far gone. I have seen very warped solid beams in many houses, those are rotten to the breaking point, in my opinion. Brave going in that one.

I agree with everyone else. This was a nice home back in the day. Large and stylish with nice architectural design. Probably a sad family story behind how it came to be in this condition. The block work on the foundation and basement seem newer than the house. That makes me think someone had plans that the house would be around for a long time and is probably the only reason the place hasn’t fallen into a big pile of lumber.
