As an American Arab who grew up learning English and Arabic at the same time and also lived in Middle East for a few years, I am fascinated by the connections between the various regions’ languages (Semitic) Have heard Urdu is a mishmash of Arabic, Farsi, Indian, and Afghani dialects Something like “Indian words written with farsi grammar in the Arabic alphabet”

Must remember Speaking language changes with the passage of Time But Literature Language remain the same So Alvida is used In Urdu but only poetry and literature .... Just look at your native languages then you will found many words not used in daily life But Still they are Existed in Literature ...People simplify the language to speak

+Sakina S True, 'khuda hafiz' was originally used by the Muslims in the Indian subcontinent - but as the influence of radical Islam is increasing everyone want to pretend to be Arabs - so they replace Khuda with Allah. Just like how Burkha/Hijab was never prevalent outside some middle eastern countries but now it's spreading rapidly due to the rapid radicalization of Muslims.

Urdu more or less serve the purpose of lingua franca, along with English, which is also the official language. major languages of Pakistan are, Punjabi (40-45%) Sindhi (15-20%) Seriki (15-20%) pastoo (10-15%) and than Kashmiri, Rajistan, Photohari, Balochi, Pahari are also widely spoken.

Michelle Qureshi india does not have any National language. We just have official languages and urdu is one of the 22 official languages as stated by constitution of india. Urdu was born in india it's just that pakistan chose it as their national language after partition. That does not make urdu just a pakistani language. Language cannot be divided like land 😊

Indians love to compare themselves to everything that's Pakistani. It's nothing new. Just a self validation thing for them. You're right, its a Pakistani language. spoken in india too among muslims. Indians don't want to remember that there was no "india" before the British conquered all states and teritories of sub continent one by one and collectively called it British Raj of India. The word India itself came from "Sindh" which became "Hind".

Simply say "Salaam" casually, and "Aadaab" ! is short yet very formal "hello" in urdu, just like ni hau in cheeni, marhaba in arbi, and namaste in hindi etc.

@yahussain1272
@yahussain1272 4 жыл бұрын
bineet gulati you dont just “adopt” a language all of a sudden its part of a culture...urdu was spoken by muslims in india and hindus adapted to the urdu language not the other way around...learn the history of urdu. Hindi contains majority of Sanskrit vocabulary..whereas urdu contains majority of farsi vocabulary. Muslims who came long time ago to india brought the vocabulary into hindustan at the time...so you claiming that pakistan “adapted” to urdu...no they did not “adapt” to it...they literally speak the language their ancestors spoke...
@yahussain1272
@yahussain1272 4 жыл бұрын
Habiba Maumoniat pakistan didnt exist before 1947..so then who are “they” when you say “they” spoke pothwari, saraiki, sindhi? It all comes down to geography and again cultural influence..though urdu was spoken first in lucknow and northern india, the language was spoken by muslims and the merge of Sanskrit and farsi from long time ago..again by the muslim empire...it wasnt a part of the indian culture or heritage..so pakistanis who speak urdu did not adapt to urdu after 1947, their ancestors have been speaking urdu...im pakistani me my friends all of our grandparents came from lucknow india...if we go way back our ancestors were persian who moved to india centuries ago..i know this because i was luckily able to find my family tree and background..it was mainly muslim and persian culture that influenced india to create languages such as urdu..and urdu is popularly and majorly spoken by muslims in india..it is these people who then moved to pakistan known as “mahajir” or “urdu speakers” pothwaris sindhis saraikis are people who live in the sindh region and speak that language and youll be surprised to know that sindhis are actually linked to india so no pakistanis did not speak “sindhi” or “pothwari” it just so happened that pakistan is a blend of many languages just like india but the majority in pakistan is mahajir and urdu speakers..the language that was spoken by our ancestors
