Interesting thing about soldiers divorcing their wives prior to going to war. I always thought Uriah was a loyal man who was treated unfairly. David realized his great sin and repented of it and became a "man after God's own heart" . Such is the way of beautiful women and men in positions of power.

Here’s how I see it. God allowed David to keep his life, He allowed David to keep Bathsheba, he blessed their bloodline with the Christ, and He took out His wrath on David’s firstborn with Bathsheba. God accepted an apology where David says his only sin was against God. How does any of this square with God not being a respecter of persons?

Thank you for letting me revisit King David and Uriah. I know some people find the story of Bathsheba hard to understand in Righteous Justice. For God's decree see 2 Samuel 12:10 (David's children - Amnon/Tamar, Absalom murdering his brother, Absalom's Rebellion etc) 'Absalom, Absalom, O my son Absalom!' Adonijah was then killed by Solomon David paid an deep earthly price for his transgression. Psalm 51 sees his humility and yearning for a righteous heart. David was awesome at repentance. (David was always an advocate for the poor and needy. I doubt the actions of David surprised GOD...his life, crimes and need for forgiveness) Many thanks again.🤝 Blessings to you and your family 🕊️

Greetings, Thank you for nudging a meditation on the relationship of Deborah and Barak. It may be that they were married? I can't remember off the top of my head any specific Jewish traditions that would reflect this?. If you know any then would be super interested... It would add an interesting dynamic with her tone to Barak re his insisting on her coming with them to war or maybe they later became married? Apologies but I confess, i don't remember reading anything specifically about this.🤔 Bless you for aiding my walk. Peace and Grace🕊️

@hobobible from my studies it's very hard to find anything from the Jewish people that support the marriage. A lady did her doctoral work on this and she absolutely believes they were married and give alot of information on the evidence. I'll try to find her. So many women and men just can't wrap their minds around a woman leader like Deborah and make all kinds of excuses for her leadership over the men much less her husband. In my opinion YaHuShua doesn't see women like the Jews did or do and the rest of society. I think this is a big taboo and I hope YAHUAH reveals more to us about the details of this. 🙏

I enjoyed spending time pondering the relationship and also the roles of these female Prophets and Judges elevated throughout scripture.📖 Its a shame the passages limit their personal interactions for us. I don't think the Bible mentions Uriahs name without also calling him "The Hittite". Even though he is skilled and his character is honorable is he looked down on at higher social levels due to his Hittite ancestry?
