Pee also turns green with Urogesic Blue which is one of the meds you can get for a UTI. And on the other side of the color wheel, AZO turns your pee Orange.

Also, blood in the urine can be provoked by other serious health issues so please always get checked, your body is wise and it will always try to let you know something is wrong.

I once went to the urologist to get tested for kidney stones (I knew I had them...kinda hard not to) but I had to be diagnosed so I went and peed in the cup and left it with the other samples. There was only one other sample in there from a guy named Kevin. It was a very deep brown/red. Kevin, if you're out there...i hope you got that taken care of bud.

one time mine was red, and i had very bad pain every time i went and after. (for years.) they said i had uti so i got meds and took it but apparently it wasn’t a uti and we found out after we took the meds and to this day we don’t know what it was. live laugh love 😘 (it still happens)

Dark yellow one can also be explained by the body removing excess vitamin B. Just something I learned from personal experience.

I remember having to do a urine sample while I had my period. The nurse came back with a look of pure terror on her face and whisper-asked me if I was on my period. When I told her I was, you should’ve seen the relief on her face. Moral of the story: always tell them beforehand 😂

I had to give a urine sample while in the ER once because I was having a horrible allergic reaction to a medication… which was an antibiotic for a UTI. When the nurse came back and saw the color of my urine she about screamed, then she remembered I was taking a medication that made my urine orange 😭😂 it was great seeing her face go from pure shock to such a relief.

Healthy reminder that too much water is a thing and can harm you. Drinking water makes you pee (as drinking liquids do), and as the water flushes all the bad stuff in your body, it then flushes out the good stuff (electrolytes, sodium, hyponatremia, etc.). It can even cause your cells to swell, and if the swelling occurs in the brain, it can cause it to press right up on your skull. Drinking water is very important, as it not only keeps your insides clean, it helps keep your skin and face clean too. However, remember to drink some Gatorade/Powerade and/or pedialyte to replenish your body's natural, needed salt. (In short. Drinking water is good, but too much is no good. Can probs cause you to die, so drink other good drinks)

Last week at work, my urine came out red and I freaked out. I hadn't eaten beets for a couple of months and I was dead certain it must be my kidneys. I freaked out for about 1 minute before I remembered what date it was and realized I had just started my period and wasn't dying from a kidney disease 😂 I'm in my mid 30s, I've had my period for more than 20 years 🙃

Also sometimes red could mean your period blood and pee mix (it happens to me sometimes, I know this because I see little blood clots in my pee!) so if you are worried you have a UTI (as a not pregnant woman) then you are good, it’s most likely you just got your period. But if you are pregnant or have never got your period, talk to a parent. If this is a huge issue talk to a doctor right away.

What is missing is Bright yellow/orange which is caused by vitamin b. My doc didn't told me that this happens after he gave me the vitamins and I was so scared

When I was on a vitamin b2 supplement, my pee used to bright yellow, like I peed out a highlighter. My doctor had told me before hand that bright yellow pee is common occurence so not to be alarmed, I remember being amused at just how bright it was lol

I remember being terrified of my urine being yellow as a kid, especially where in the summer. My parents told me that if your urine was yellow, you hadn’t had enough water, and having stretchers with white sheets over them not being an uncommon sight in the trailer park near my childhood home, instilled at healthy fear of dehydration and heat exhaustion at a very young age.

Good thing that Clear doesn’t mean hydrated- I was told that if my pee is at all yellow, I was dehydrated. THANK YOU for basically telling me I’m normal. I was telling myself for so long that I need to drink more water.

Don't forget about the concentration that the said pee is in. For example she gave us demonstrations in a cup, so she was referring to pee in a cup not in a toilet. This is because then the pee isn't concentrated and gets diluted due to the water. In short even if your pee appears clear in the toilet that isn't an accurate representation and if you want to truly know the color then you have to pee in a cup and I guarantee it will be darker.

Red can also be porphyria! Its quite rare to actually see the red urine, but its supposedly a very characteristic red. The condition is quite rare and can be debilitating depending on what type someone has, and you'd probably have some idea if you had it.
