I lost my grandpa a few years ago, he served in Korea. I was only really sad when we first found out, and when we had to say goodbye bye. Besides that I could keep it together. But when they folded his flag and played taps, I lost it. Even my dad who I’ve hardly seen cry in my life was in tears. Very powerful song

I lost my Daddy the other day. He was a Umited States Army Sergeant in 63. Thank-you for this video. I am preparing for his military memorial. God Bless ❤

My dad also died just 2 weeks ago. He was 88. He was playing Taps since he was 15 years old. He happily traveled 50 miles or more to play Taps over the last 70 some years for any fallen veteran. He got a full military rites funeral with Taps and 21 gun salute. I cried and cried. I miss you father. Condolences to you also sir.

I know this because I served in The Old Guard - 3rd U.S. Infantry Regiment at Ft. Myer, Arlington, VA. I have performed this duty many times over.

That's not a 21-gun salute ... That is rendering of honors with three volleys ... which originated during the American Revolution. The firing of three volleys informed the opposition that you needed to clear your dead from the battlefield. A 21-gun salute is the firing of field artillery cannons (Howitzers) 21 times to honor the arrival of domestic and foreign dignitaries, heads of state, and high-ranking officers of the military command.

My stepdad’s dad served in th U.S Air Force, and my grandpa was in the navy. They both passed away, rest in peace grandpa Ronald Eugene Burden and Paul P Coen and all of the other soldiers who have given their lives for the freedoms we have today
