US artists censored for painting watermelons

These US artists were censored for painting watermelons and other Palestinian symbols during an Arab-American Heritage Month exhibition in Washington DC.
Refusing to be silenced, they told TRT World they took down their artwork and staged a protest.

This isn't freedom of speech. No one is stoppin these artists from paintin. But the allery has a riht to choose whose art they display. It may not be nice, but that's reality. The artists are free to start their own allery if no one else will display their art.

Thanks artists who give a dam. There are too many who don't. Shouldn't be surprising I guess. But this event really shows what side of gen---- theyre on. Seinfeld for example. Has no excuse for being ignorant on this issue. He can afford Utube can't he?

With all kinds of sympathy and support and care, we almost all share same basic background of United humanitarian responsibility but looking at your main interest, background and diverse representation adding to that and most importantly your overall state, mindfulness, knowledge, credibility of taking such stance to a given cause and level of awareness around such matters in addition to genuine and authentic relation to such cause and actually being responsible for and supportive to enhancing and surfacing just outcomes based on true facts while putting all kinds of variables in consideration… do you really think that simply protesting rather than communicating and winning a debate is an answer or is it just a burden on your local system that only proves you as ineligible to argue as a group ??
