US election: Polls show Biden support falling as Supreme Court rules on Trump immunity | BBC News

Күн бұрынSupport for Joe Biden has dipped since his first presidential debate against Donald Trump, a new poll has suggested.
The CBS News/YouGov poll indicated that 72% of registered voters believe the current US president does not have the mental and cognitive health to serve as president. Nearly half said he should step aside.
However, the poll also showed that over half of registered democrats still believe Biden should be the party’s nominee.
The message from his campaign team and his family is that he remains the party's best hope to defeat Trump.
Meanwhile, the Supreme Court is expected to rule on whether Donald Trump has immunity from the most serious criminal charges against him.
It will be the first time the high court weighs in on whether a president can be criminally prosecuted for actions he took while in office.

Interesting, that's kind of the problem with politics/polls now, they're less reliable as our trust in democratic institutions and politics goes down. Lack of trust just leads to more lack of trust and people tend to either not vote and become depoliticised (which I think makes you a fool and a surf, it takes only 1/2 hr out of your day to do this one crucial democratic thing every 3-4 years, plus compulsory voting makes politics less extreme, less hateful, with fewer demigods too) or vote for fake populists, that don't actually care about people or serving their country, like Trump, Orban etc.

The only problem with polls is that they take time as people get information slowly in a big country so its not that fast and quick polls can be wrong as they get people's opinion before they get news/information that might change how they vote

The USA has seen everything and much worse, President Roosevelt had an illness and was in a Wheelchair and ran for office and he won, then the other Roosevelt died in office in 1945 in the middle of WW2 whole the war was raging on and it was very orderly process that Harry Truman took over as President. The USA is a country of order and will always be fine.

Its just following the same process from 2016, Biden was next in line after Hillary and Trump after winning in 2016 was going to try and complete his full 8 years so it was cut short by Covid and Biden being a strong candidate and so we are here today but in 2028 finally we will get all new fresh faces and hopefully people remember to vote younger people we need to end this baby boomer mess and get to the next generation.

The logic cannot be disputed… America creates criminals. The bottom line is homelessness and now homelessness is a crime. If you want to stay a honest homeless person you can but you will still go to jail. To survive on the street today buying and selling drugs is one way to do it even buying and selling guns can work. HUD housing may not want to rent to you if you have a criminal record, and in Tennessee homelessness is a felony. The point I'm trying to make is that innocence is a crime in the same way that sleeping and using the bathroom can land you in jail. These days joining a gang does make sense.
